Ovulation Pains?
Posted: 11-08-07 18:49pm

So I am into the first 5 days of my bc pack and i am getting these almost cramping pains in my ovaries "area". I am sure they are not gas pains! They almost feel like cramping, but at the same time it's kind of a sharp pain. Is this cramping a sign of ovulation? If so, that wouldn't be good right, because that's what the bc should discontinue (ovulation)?
Please let me know, thanks!

You cannot be ovulating if you are on birth control. They are cramps due to the changing hormones in your body due to the birth control.

It IS possible to ovulate while on birth control. If you ovulate, it means the dosage is not high enough, or you have not been taking it correctly.

Well yes, but we're assuming correct usage and dosage since in most (90%) of cases, normal dosage works just fine.

Ya I've been taking it correctly! So I'm probably being paranoid again! Thanks though!

ALL DOSES we have right now DO prevent ovulation.

SOME women can have breakthrough ovulation, but this is considered a RARITY and not the 'norm'.
