Hi, New here. What I want to know is
after an injection, what would an
infection feel like? Three weeks after an
injection my tail bone and hip hurt all
the time now. Standing,sitting,laying
down. So now after back surgury,
compressed nerve on L5, I still have pain
in leg and thanks to that injection more
pain. Just to let you know, that shot
hurt like He??. I'll never do that again.
The epidural steroid injection was a walk
in the park. Of which I can't do anymore.

What you are experiencing is obviously not
right. Yes, it is possible that you have
an infection, or?
Tkhomes, PLEASE call your doctor first
thing on Monday morning and talk with
him/her that day about what is wrong.
Also make an appointment as soon as they
can work you in.
I just had an injection through my
tailbone. Man, when I realized where my
doc was going to stick that needle I felt
very uneasy. Actually, there was less
pain than my first epidural which he
injected through my back in April. At
this point the "tailbone" injection is
definitely helping. I will certainly keep
in mind as time progresses if I find I am
getting the pain you have described.
Again, PLEASE don't delay, call your doc
and speak with him/her on Monday.

An infection certainly could be one
possibility. I’m guessing that, since
it wasn’t mentioned in your original
post, that you don’t have any redness,
pain, discharge, or fowl odor coming from
the injection site? Any fever? If I’ve
guessed wrong and you do have any of these
symptoms you do or did need to seek
immediate medical attention.
Many of us don’t really ask or read the
fine print regarding potential risk and
side affects associated with medical
procedures of every kind. Where
injections are concerned the odds of any
of those “things” happening to you
sounds a little like the lottery odds.
Everybody who has had an injection is one
of those people who make up the odds;
unfortunately you could be one of those
people who got the short stick so to
speak. Unfortunately, the symptoms that
you are describing is a fairly normal and
common side affect that may resolve with
time or might not.

SIJ injection is for pain in SIJ only. And
pain in SIJ is just one symptom of pelvis
dysfunction like ilium upslip. Even if the
injection heals the pain in SIJ it won't
heal other symptoms. The pelvic
dysfunction should be corrected.
