Is Something Wrong With Me Or Am I Just Worried Over Nothing Posted: 11-10-07 18:36pm
I'm 15, and I don't know how to say this,
so I'll try the best I can.
Sometimes I'll be laying down in my bed,
and I'll just be resting trying to sleep
without being even half asleep or
anything, and suddenly in my head I'll get
a feeling in my head and it wakes me up.
Inside my head will feel cold and I'll be
wide awake, and tired at the same time. I
don't think it is me just getting woken up
out of some near half-asleep thing,
because it happens a lot and has a
different feel.
And sometimes I'll be saying something or
typing something like this post, and
suddenly I'll forget what I was just
thinking about! It's wierd, I can NEVER
remember anything. I barely remember what
I was just thinking about.
And sometimes I'll be laying down in my
bed and I feel some wierd click, or pop
inside my head. Not a psychical thing, but
I hear something, and it wakes me up. Then
my head feels wierd like there's some
empty space in it.
Anyone know what's going on? Sorry for the
bad description. Also, I'm 99% sure I'm
depressed, if that helps anyone(they say
you can't remember things as easy, though
I'll be thinking something and then I'll
suddenly stop and forget what I was
thinking about).

What makes you so sure you are depressed?
Are you having other emotional symptoms
that you didn't mention? Forgetfulness
itself is not enough to indicate
depression.

Oh this isn't the thread where I said I
was depressed, can never concnetrate, i
dont care for much, masturbatiing isnt
much fun, and other things.
but still this is a thread for my head
problem.. It happened last night too. I'm
calm in my bed and suddenly I feel like,
when you are sleeping in school and you
wake up. the feeling of relaxation you
feel, of waking up and having energy, I
feel that through my body, but i feel it
especially in my head.
it's random too, no noises or anything.
but last night it happened twice and i
heard some noise when it happened. It was
accompanied with whatever kept me up, as
the sound wasn't really there. I just
imagined hearing it as it pulled me out of
my sleep state (whatever it's called)
Sorry.. I can't think right now

I have to say that it sounds fairly normal
to me. At least, it happens to me too,
just a startle (caused by nothing) that
jolts you awake (or alert). It happens to
me when I am tired.

It's not a startle because I don't feel
shock, I just suddenly get awakened

sure, I know what you mean. Maybe I'm just
not explaining it well. Sometimes when I'm
drifting to sleep or relaxing I'm just
suddenly more alert- as if I'd heard a
noise but there wasn't any.

I would suggest getting an MRI soon, you
don'person go in for a check up and
realize youre facing a serious problem
that could have been prevented.

The 'pop' in your head may well be a
physical thing such as a nasal blockage
(polyp, etc) and you awake with a start
because it has disturbed your breathing.
Next day, you are wiped out because you
have not slept a deep and proper sleep,
and this makes you forgetful.
I know this scenario only too well because
I suffer from it too. You need to take
all this to a doctor and have your airways
checked.

I have just read your profile and the fact
that you say you are overweight makes me
more confident in my belief that you have
sleep deprivation because of your faulty
airways. This is a common occurence in
overweight people. It can also lead to
depression. it's all related!

Hi Sweetie! Me Fairy*Godmother Posted: 01-26-08 20:55pm
HI Son, Not srue what has happened in your
life to cause you to have such low self
esteem. Sure, lots of us gorw up with
divorced parents and thye seem to only
have time for their "new sifnicant other".
So, its kinda up to us to make it or break
it. You are 15 years old. You have to
realize you watn and need help, otherwise
you would not have taken that first BIG
STEP and written heree........Knowing
someone (like me and other) would try to
offer some advice. I've been diagnosed as
depressed for almost 40 years! My folks
separated when I was six. I went thorough
some crap in my life and the comfort
eating and being called the fat girl and
all other kinds of names......I know what
its like to stand outside and cry for
hours and wish you were dead............
and this was during a crappy marriage and
having a 6 year old to rasie on my own. I
asked God to help me I could not do this
anymore alone. In order for him ot help me
I had to help myself. Get up,. wipe
yourself off and start over. You are
someone special. You have the power to
cahnge the situation you are in. Either
you can start eating healthy, exercising
and volunteering to help out as in local
animal shelters, senior centers, somewhere
someone else will need you and you will
feel needed. Make school a top
priority....If you want others to like you
,you first have to like and believe in
yourself. Start taking better care of
yourself and feel confident. Look in hte
mirror everyday and Thank God for allowing
you to have this great day.....ask him to
help you to become a better person and to
at least let you find someone who needs
tyou to make them smile. Apply yourself in
school and make good grades, go to a
technical school if you aren't ready for
college just yet and learn a trade. You
will make great friends there as well,
because you are all together in a field
you want to a goal toward. If yo uhonestly
feel something is not right in your head,
by all means find a physican who can refer
you to a psycologist or neuroloy clinic.
At elast you can rule this out. I bet once
you change your diet, and get exercise and
start having a positive
attitude......better self esteem, you may
find you can sleep a more restful sleep.
Dream of looking forward to what you can
do for others.....I won;t allow something
to control me..........kinda like
cigarettes, I finally took control over
them 15 years ago and once I did that, I
knew I could battle anything. I believe in
you and I don't even know
you............but I know somewhere deep
inside you is a great guy trying to get
out and someone who can be anything they
put their mind too! HUGS! Keep in touch!
