Family Portrait Help

We're getting our first ever family
portraits done on Saturday, the 17th They're also going
to be Christmas ones. I need help getting
our outfits together though. Kaylee's
dress is maroon & white, a pretty
Christmasy dress , I have a
maroon collared shirt that I wear a lot
with a white tank underneath..
This is the best pic I could find of me
wearing that top..You get the idea lol..
Should Shane wear a white dress shirt or
maroon one like me? I want us all to kind
of match but not be exactly alike.
& another question.. My hair, I don't
have a clue what the heck to do with it
for these pictures! I don't know if I
should straighten it & leave it all
down, straighten it & put half up,
scrunch it & leave it all down like
the pic above or scrunch it & put half
up.. I might be able to scrunch it &
put it all up & make it cute but I'm
not sure if my hair is long enough yet.
Here's some pics of different hairstyles
that I do, I'm asking you guys because I
know I'll get honest answers, Shane lies
to tell me whatever I want to hear lol.
Ok, hair scrunched & pinned all up
(but my hair isn't as long as it was in
the pic so I'm not sure how good it would
look)
Scrunched & half up
Straightened & half up but my hair was
really messy in this pic.
Aaaaand, straightened & all down.
Oh & I just figured out that I can
post my pictures from my webshots on here!
All this time I didn't even need
photobucket or imagecave

I love your hair straightened and half up!
As far as what shane should wear I think
white or maroon would be ok! I'm always
bad at making those kind of decisions too!

Thanks for the help ladies! I think I'll
make Shane wear the white shirt (I always
pick his clothes out for him lmbo), which
works out really well because he has one,
so we wouldn't have to spend any extra
money buying new clothes! My hair I'm
still debating on though.. I really love
straightening it & wearing it down but
I also like it half up.. This is hard! If
I can get it to behave as well as it did
the night I straightened it in that last
pic, I might do that, but if it's going to
be all crazy & go afroman on me I'll
end up having to either scrunch it or put
it half up..
This sucks! I really want these pictures
to turn out good because it will be our
first family picture & who knows when
I'll be able to con Shane into getting
more, so I want everything to be perfect!
I'd love to be able to put a pretty
headband on Kaylee but I don't see that
happening, she's too fiesty!

I think burgundy & maroon are the same
color or pretty close! I have gold
eyeshadow, I didn't think of wearing it
for the pictures but now I'll consider
it!! I wore it the night of my halloween
party & got all kinds of compliments
on my eyes!

well, the trick is to keep it fresh and
light. A good mascara , a nice shade of
shadow and gloss is all you really need.
Youre pretty without make-up so it's easy
to apply a tad here and there just to
enhance your features.

make up police here!!!
lol youve got natural beauty so stick with
earth tones
a nice light brown shadow would look
perfect with some mascara and a pale pink
gloss or lip color. nothing too
knowticable. even a nice beige or natural
tan eyeshadow would look great!
if your going to use blush dont use
anything too pink
try to naturally blush your cheeks with a
beige color slightly pinker than your skin
but not too pink. but i think you should
just focus on your eyes. thats really the
focal point in pics and thats what makes a
great picture! along with a nice smile you
cant go wrong!!!

You two are great The only thing I
ever do makeup-wise is a little eyeliner
lol. I'm always afraid I'm going to do too
much & look fake! I've been looking
for ways though to really bring out the
green in my eyes. I love green eyes.

liner usually makes your eyes darker....so
avoid that. Putting shimmery shadows will
lighten them up drastically and mascara
will widen your eye so everyone can see
them....I love make up too and yeah
looking like a cake face is never good.

Oh ok, see I didn't know that about eye
liner! The gold eyeshadow I have is a
light shimmery gold color, it's really
pretty, I just haven't thought to wear it
any other time besides Halloween because
it matched my costume! A friend of mine
always cakes her make up on &
it's so noticeable! I've known her for
almost 7 years now & I've never once
seen her without makeup!

I also think that your hair looks really
good down! I think Shane should wear the
maroon shirt if it matches the color of
yours with a white undershirt under it. I
think it would be cute with kaylee wearing
the most white. I hope you post the
picture for us to see as soon as you can
I bet they
turn out greeeat!
As for makeup, everyone's right when they
say you are a natural beauty. Just try to
go for a polished look in the picture.
Even out your skin tone if you have any
slightly red areas or under-eye circles
with a light powder or concealer (you can
get Rimmel products from walmart...
they're really inexpensive AND are of a
good quality. Also, Revlon's colorstay
liquid makeup and pressed powders are
wooonderful. I JUST switched from my
$40-a-bottle foundation to that and I
looove it!), and really focus on your eyes
from there... they're beautiful! I'd pick
up one of those eyeshadow trios or
something like that where it comes with
three or four colors that go good together
in light, neutral shades (browns would
look really good on you I think). Then
use the lightest color all over your
eyelid and to highlight right under your
brow bone. Then use a darker color in the
outer crease of your eyelid, and finish up
with the darkest color used as a cream or
powder liner swept closely along your
lashes on your top lid. It creates a
smokey look, and it looks great on
everyone. Finish up with just a smudge of
eyeliner and some really good mascara on
your top lashes and just barely touched to
your bottom ones. Then all you'd need is
a touch of color high on your cheek bones
so you don't look washed-out from the
powder, and a sheer pinkish lip gloss.

I have green eyes as well, and a soft
shimmery goldish-brown is my FAVORITE
eyeshadow to wear! It works reeeeeally
well with green eyes. I say you add a
touch of your gold over a light brown to
create a soft-bronze color. The sparkle
(as long as it's not big hunks of glitter
of course ) will really
lighten up and bring out your eyes.
OKay I'm done now Sorry for all the

Thanks so much! I'll definately be posting
the pics for you all to see! I'm hoping to
get a lot! I want some of just Kaylee, a
family one, some of Kaylee & Shane
alone then some with just her & I.
We're getting them done Saturday so they
should be on the website for me to show
people by the 23rd or so! I've looked at
the eyeshadow that you're talking about,
but again, I didn't know how to do it so I
never bothered to get it lol!! I should
get some & try it now that I know what
I'm suppose to do with it!

michelle remember eyeliner also makes your
eyes look smaller
mascara makes them larger
try lining just your outer edges very
lightly nothing too dark
