Painfull Nose and Is smoking making me sneeze ? Posted: 11-12-07 09:06am
Hiya,
Went to the doctors today and got nothing
out of it, just wondered if anyone could
recommend me on what to do!
for the last few years i am prone to
sneezing,, alot. not too sure what causes
it, doesnt seem to be at certain times or
anything so not sure if it coz im allergic
to anything.
Now comes the embarracing part... i bite
my nails constantly and since around 3
years ago i have got a realy bad habbit of
pokeing the roof of my mouth with the
bitten nail (i know what a plonker)
anyways about 3 years ago one of the nails
went right up inside of the roof of my
mouth, with alot of discomfort i managed
to get it out. this then turned into a
habit and i have now got a fairly large
hole in the roof of my mouth which i am
able to suck air through from my nose.
have been to the doctor about 2 years ago
and was refered to the dentist, got there
and was too embarraced to go through it
again so he assumed something had just
hurt it and i stupidly agreed.
for the last year now it feels like my
nose is drying up, dont know if the
sneezing or the hole have anything to do
with it but it is very painful.
went to the doctors today and she said she
would refer me to the throat ear and nose
clinic but i would need to stop smoking
before she will send me. she thinks that
smoking is making me sneeze??? and that it
is the cause for my painfull nose?? have
agreed to go to the half hour meeting
every week in order to get the patches but
didnt tell her about the hole in my mouth,
not sure what to do now.
sorry for going on lol, bit of a long
story,
cheers!

Please tell someone about the hole in your
mouth! It could be really beneficial for
your treatment and your problem. And it
IS absolutely crucial that you expose your
embarrassing secret because it could cause
you even more pain.
