Human morals don't. Notice that women can
vote these days?

Even if I were the awful person you make

abortion more
moral?
Is that the kind of logic you learn after
six decades?

I said emotions, not morals.

Does that mean you are unable to answer

Your state of being does not affect the
morality of abortion. It does, however,
affect the credibility of your arguments.
Is that what you were going for, Birch?

Not unless I ask you to believe something
based solely on my "state of being", which
I have never done, have I?
Therefore to make continuous personal
attacks adds nothing to this debate.

I did not pose the original question nor
do I know what it is referring to, thus
ask Birch, not me.

Yeah, sure, that's right.
If you were an awful person, and uh...that
has something to do with elective
abortion...and uh...six decades on the
Earth and you are still dishonest...those
are all tied together with...um...
Invisible string?
Wisps of clouds?
Dust storms?

My point exactly..... there is no
connection, and therefore all of your
personal attacks on me amount to nothing
where the subject of abortion is
concerned, so apparently you make them for
other reasons.

You missed the point Yoda. She never SAID
there was a connection, YOU did.

No, YOU miss the point, E.
The ABSENCE of a connection WAS my
point.... that makes her personal attacks
here "gratuitous", doesn't it?

If that was your point, then why didn't
you say so WAY UP THERE? You drag things
out and completely pull debates off course
for absolutely no reason whatsoever, aside
from the fact that you must really like to
read what you type.

You missed the entire physiology yoda..
again.. 'fear' is 'felt' as a CHEMICAL
reaction in the frontal lobe of the
brain... WHICH. Is. NOT .Developed. At.
The. Gestational. Stage. In. Question....
Anymore bits of misinformation I can shoot
down for you?

I have stacks of reports that posts
containing personal attacks on me have
been deleted, and yet they continue on and
on and on...... I think there's a pattern
here..... and it has nothing to do with
the morality of elective abortion. It has
everything to do with an inability to
defend it without making personal attacks.

The point yoda, is personal attacks aside,
you haven't contributed anything to this
debate on abortion. You have only stated
your "opinions" (almost exclusively
dictionary definitions), called every
challenge of them an "attack", AND you
have repeatedly refused to respond to
almost every question asked of you. You
dance around, you complain, you report
posts. But you never actually contribute
to the debate. A debate is two sided,
yoda. You've presented your side. Now you
need to respond to the hard questions.
This post is not another "personal
attack". These are observations, yoda. If
you don't want to be viewed in this way
then don't act in this way.
This debate is full of hard questions.
Many of the people on here are highly
intelligent and are going to ask you
difficult questions that may indeed
challenge your pro-life stance. That's why
we're all here. We want to
be challenged. We want to learn and to
grow and to yes - change and modify our
stances so they are stronger and better.
I'm sorry that all of the information
you've presented is stuff we've already
heard. That's why we keep asking you for
something new: because we want to be
challenged.
The problem is that you're trying to
challenge us, but you don't want to be
challenged in return. You want to play
with fire but not get burned. Well you've
stoked the fire, and it's burning. You can
either start being a PART of this
community - and we ARE a community, all of
us, pro-life and pro-choice - or you can
slowly just fade away and be ignored. You
can either start answering our questions
and playing ball, or sit on the sidelines.
But if you choose just to sit on the
sidelines and yell things at us - as you
have been doing - then eventually we're
going to ignore you.
So stack your reports. Complain to the
Admin. Call us mean and unfair. We'll just
ignore you. It's well beyond boring, yoda.

We want you to be part of this
community, yoda. When you first came I
went "Yes! Someone new to argue back and
forth with!" Well, I've given you my half
of that... and I'm waiting for yours.
We don't know who you are yoda. Everyone
on here knows everyone because we freely
express our ideas, our conclusions and
concepts and thoughts. You haven't done
that. You're not giving us anything, and
we're giving you everything. Can you
understand our frustration when we thus
offer these questions - not just to find
out your opinion on something, but also to
find out who you are through your
answer? If you only answer with a
dictionary, then you are just a robot. If
it takes nine pages to get a one-line
answer out of you, you're just a brick
wall. I don't want to debate with a robot
or a brick wall.
I want to debate with Yodavater. And I
can't, because you won't let us know you.

The questions we ask you are our gifts to
you, Yoda. We spend time and effort on
them, thinking scheming, coming up with
the best wording possible to get across
our meanings. And when we press "post" and
lean back in our chairs cackling with joy,
it is not just because of our well-crafted
question. It is in anticipation of the
answer.
We don't like to just hear ourselves type
here; we relish the answers because that
gives us something new to bounce off and
consider.
So yes, you're doing a wonderful job at
denying many of us the pleasure of having
well-written posts answered in a
thoughtful way. We often feel like we're
pulling teeth with you. My only question
is why? Why are you so
recalcitrant to answer our questions? If
it's only to gain your own joy out of
denying us ours, then as I said we're
probably going to get frustrated and just
plain ignore you. If there's another
reason, I really would like to know.
So what if you think our questions are
dumb, or pointless? We'll learn a lot more
from you answering them than from you
ignoring them. If we've worded a question
badly then your answer could be something
we never expected. But you still need to
directly address the question. Don't
side-step. Don't say "I see no point!". I
have learned so much on this forum about
how to correctly phrase a question, but it
only came from getting answers to badly
phrased questions.
The next section could be considered
advice.
Consider - really read - the information
presented to you in posts. We're not
putting it there for the heck of it. Those
five paragraphs before the final
conclusion are probably important to
understanding the conclusion.
Don't nit pick. Really. If you're going to
nitpick, do it for the entire post. Take
every concept, every sentence or
paragraph, and reply to it. When you only
quote one line, it leads me and others to
believe that you don't care and don't
read. Maybe you don't care and you don't
read! At least admit it then, so we know
that there's no point to typing up
intricate posts for you.
Play the game. If a poster request certain
rules for replying to their topic or post,
be a good sport and play along. You may
think the rules are dumb, but you may
learn something in the end. If you don't
like the rules, after you reply and follow
them, make your own post, rephrase the
question or whatever, and use your OWN
rules. Or turn the rules on the original
poster and see how they like it!
