I am 23 yrs old and a single mother of 2
boys. My fiancee and I have been trying
to get pregnant since october 2003 of last
year. Now ever since 2004 came in I have
had irregular cycles every month. I am
wondering if the cycles could mean that I
could still be pregnant and not know it or
is it causing problems in my
concieving....
And by the way, I have been taking
pregnancy tests and they have all come out
negative...

Hi there,
a little while ago my husband and I were
trying to conceive as well. We've had to
stop recently because of unforseen
circumstances, however, like you seem to
be, I really wanted to conceive.
I'm by no means an expert, however, i'm
guessing that you're irregular periods are
not signs that you are pregnant,
especially since the tests are coming up
negative. If I were you I would keep
very close track of your cycles on a
calendar for the next couple of months,
see if you can see any pattern or
consistancy. As hard as it may be, I
would also suggest that you back off the
whole conception thing, just for a little
while. Sometimes we can put ourselves
under so much stress about it all that we
actually work against ourselves.
Recently my period was late and I was so
hoping I was pregnant. However, it
turned out I wasn't but I wouldn't be
surprised if part of the reason it was
late was because I was trying to convince
myself that I might be. The day after I
did a pregnancy test (which was negative)
my period started.
If your periods continue to be irregular
over the next couple of months and you
can't see any pattern to them I would
suggest talking to your doctor. As I
said, they could be irregular just because
you're trying so hard. Was it only 3
months after you started trying that they
became irregular?
Keep track of things on the calendar and
just enjoy being with your fiance. It
will happen for you.
Good luck!
