Epileptic episodes - Similar Occurences Anyone? Posted: 11-13-07 17:58pm
Hi everyone, I wondered if anyone can help
or offer any input as I'm confused and
really feel like I'm going quite crazy at
times..!
I've had some unexplained 'episodes' this
year which finally prompted me to seek
advice from my doctor, who has referred me
to a nuerologist. He suggested they may be
epilepsy related (no family history) and
wondered if anybody has experienced
similar to myself:
I have the sensation that I can 'see'
through my eyelids and repetitvely seek to
'disprove' the thought in my head which
won't go away when it happens.. to do this
I repetitively move my hands in front of
my face. In my head I know its not
possible and am conscious but cannot stop
doing it. It can last for several minutes.
I have the extreme sensation that my body
feels like it needs to "burst" out from
itself and this causes me to stretch all
my muscles out.
I move my toes and sometimes my fingers
without realising and then almost feel
like I 'come round' and realise what I am
doing but don't know how long I have been
doing it for.
I often sleep with my arm(s) in the air
and when it begins to fall, I put it up
again. Sometimes I have been known to do
this with my legs as well. It happens most
nights not sure for how long or anything.
I have had an episode of violent shaking
from my chest down whilst resting in bed -
very cold afterwards and extremely tired.
I was conscious throughout although could
not speak apart from moan.
The hardest thing is that I do know what
I'm doing but seem unable to stop it..
