Does Length of Period Affect When You Ovulate?
Posted: 11-14-07 05:40am

I just finished my period this morning. been on it for 6 days and 5 of them were really heavy. i usually only have a period for 3 days and it's just medium.

does period length affect when you ovulate? i ask because robbie is possibly getting to come home again for the weekend on 24th/25th november but i think i may of already ovulated by then.

what do you think?

well, I'd be of the opinion that day 14 is day 14, no matter how many days the actual bleeding lasted for.

You count back 14 day from when you'd expect your next period, and on an average cycle length, you'd expect your next period 28 days from the first day of bleeding (not, for example, 3 weeks after the last day of bleeding)

Good to see somebody I remember still on here!!!!

Best of luck on the "home" weekend.

No Becky, you ovulate 12-14 days BEFORE your nexte period. Every person is different. I have a 26 day cycle most of the time. I usually ovulate on cd 13 or 14 but sometimes day 12. My luteal phase (after ovulation) is usually 12 or 13 days.

Have you thought about temping? I say that just because you have all this time before Robbie comes back and it would give you an opportunity to study your body. If you practice this month, then when he comes home you will be an expert at your fertility signs.
