No ma'am you can not, as long as you have
been taking your pills as directed and
have been on the pill for more than one
month.

Your friend had to have used the condom
incorrectly (not putting it on properly
and making sure all the air is out of the
tip causes condoms to break... about 75%
of people put them on "incorrectly") and
probably wasn't being religious in her
pill taking. Going longer than 24 hours
between pills increases your risk
slightly, but you aren't really at risk
for pregnancy unless you miss a pill
altogether and do not take two the next
day. Also, if she'd just started or
switched birth controls then she wasn't
fully protected by the birth control pills
yet to begin with. It takes an entire
pack for the full benefits to kick in and
for your cycle to become regulated.
A few hours (3 or so) probably won't
increase your risk by much at all, but I'd
really suggest you create an alarm on your
phone to go off every day to help you
remember. It really helps! If you ever
forget a pill altogether and don't
remember until the next day, take two
instead and then continue the pack
normally. It's always best to use a
barrier method of birth control (condoms)
whenever you miss a pill until you finish
the pack just IN CASE your body released
an egg during the day you forgot to take
the pill. But an hour or so generally
will not screw you up.
