so according to my doctor im on my 7th week of pregnancy, this isnt accurate as i managed to get pregnant whilst being on the pill so she referred me to the hospital who were supposed to get in touch with me for an early scan to check dates but as yet havnt heard anything.
but for 7 weeks i seem to be gettin a huge belly, im normally pretty slim, im kinda confused people keep asking me if im further along because i have a proper little bump going on........

could i be further or is it just me gettin fat??

im not entirely sure when i concieved and neither is the doctor as the time before my missed period i had an abnormal period which she said could be inplantation bleeding, hence the need for an early scan so in theory i could be 9/10 weeks maybe??

has anyone else had this??

Im not farther along...I though I was around 7 weeks but when I went for my scan I was only 5 weeks. So anything could happen...when was your last period??

Usually, those early dating ultrasounds are fairly accurate (they have an error rate of about a week, I think). I'm guessing if they estimated 7 weeks, it's pretty close.

Bloating is extremely common in early pregnancy and it can make your belly seem much bigger and your clothes not fit right. I took a belly pic at 9 weeks, and I was so bloated then, it looks identical to my 19 or 20 week belly pic. For me, the bloating went down around 11 weeks.

I agree with the bloating. Have you been overeating? If not, then it's just bloating which is so common at that stage of pregnancy. Congratulations and Good Luck.

I went to the BODIES exhibit and the had a prenatal portion... at 7 weeks youre like nothing... so you might just be gaining weight or retainign water if you are for surely 7 weeks

I did like it a lot. Some of it was really crazy. It was hard for my mind to grasp that the bodies were real. I did go into the prenatal portion. It was interesting to see some of the defects, etc, but the section made me a bit sad.

You had your first pre-natal appointment with no internal exam? When was our last pap smear?

In the states, at your first prenatal appointment you get a pap smear and an internal exam. Your breasts get checked. You get weighed. A pregnancy test. The whole work up.

It would be unusual NOT to get these things done at a first appointment.

maybe she hasn't had her first real appointment yet? my first appointment was just paperwork, family history, and general pregnancy health info.

I'm eleven weeks pregnant and got a papsmere shortly before I got pregnant but my doctor said if I hadn't he wouldn't have given me one until after the pregnancy beacuse the hormone levels tend to make the results apear abnormal

well i dont live in the us and have no idea what a pap smear is??? we have smear tests but we dont get them till were 21 or 25 something like that.
i live in England the only reason i went to the doctor so early was because i had 5 tests come back positive she said their tests are exactly the same as home tests, so an early scan would confirm and determine actual dates because of the pill. it wasnt a pre natal appointment. we just talked about dos and donts and sent a letter to the hospital. i hvnt even been assigned a midwife yet.
