Anal Warts In Toddlers - contagious??
Posted: 11-21-07 15:22pm

I am quite concerned, I am watching a 2 and a half year old little girl, and today while changing her diaper, I noticed in her anal what strongly resembles warts, so i looked up pictures online and sure enough they are, I'm very concerned because I also have a daughter and i am wondering if these are contagious?? Another thing that worries me is that the parents never mentioned anything to me about this, and a website online said hpv in children could be a result of sexual abuse...
but the mother does always have coldsores on her face, and has mentioned to me that her medication makes her get them, and they had also told me that they had to had A C-section with this child, but did'nt exactly tell me why, so I'm beggining to think maybe the little girl got them from her mother???
I don't know how exactly to go about questioning them about this... Crying

The only ways you can get genital warts is by having sexual contact with the person that has the warts, sharing the same towel (if someone wiped their genital area and then someone else used the same towel) and if you touch the warts with your hands and do not wash them immediately. When her mother was pregnant she might of had genital warts and passed them on to her child.Medication does not cause cold sores. You need to have a talk with her parents about this just tell them that you are concerned.

This is very serious and a sign of child abuse. This should be evaluated by a pediatrician as soon as possible. Are you sure they are not skin tags? you should talk to the authorities even when this means a change of job.
