i went in today i was having horrid contractions
(i hated the stupid nurse she was a witch to me)
they checked me and said i wasnt dialated but i had lost most of my plug and was 75% effaced.....then the stupid nurse came in and said if i didnt feel like i had just been hit by a truck that i most-likely wasnt in labor and shouldnt come in....funny thing was me and the dh were shopping today and i couldnt walk or talk or anything considering this in my first pregnancy and i had been loosing my plug plus the triage nurse i talked to the other night said if i felt anything like what i did to go to l&d i figured it was the right thing to do...guess not!!!I just said w/e and rolled my eyes at her.....i really really really hope i dont have her when i really am in labor b/c i might just go balistic on her....she also told me (when she noticed i was having contractions on the monitor) that if i couldnt handle the small ones i might as well get drugs the min. i get in there and not even TRY having it naturally...which i found completly rude plus the ones they monitored didnt hurt near as bad as the ones when i was walking around in the mall did!! I SWEAR....I WAS GONNA SLAP HER!!dh just told her if she couldnt say anything positive to me that she didnt have anything to say to me at all....lol....i love the fact he's an lpn,but come on someone with that negative and attitude shouldnt be working with people. is your doctor a civilian or military?

a good way to judge by the way is laying down, walking can make bad braxton hicks. if you lay and you still feel them a few minutes apart (anything less the 10)
then you should go in again.
or if you feel leaking. My water broke, but it dripped out very slowly and i never had contractions.

I had a crabby old nurse too...ugh. At one point during the time I was pushing jay out and was screaming in pain she actually told me to shut up! In the end I was swearing my head off really loud anyway. The other widwife was really nice though and shes the one who delivered Jay.

that would make me soo mad, i would wanna swtich who i see lol but of course your 37 weeks so that would be pointless now. Im guessing she has never been pregnant in her lifetime lol. I had prety nice drs but i was referred offbase to civilian drs and it was an OBGYN clinic, so all they sa!w was pregnant people. And her i saw german drs. so i kinda got around seein a military dr or having a baby at a military hospital. hopefully it all goes well for u!

Yikes. What a horrible nurse.

I completely questioned whether or not I was in labor when I went in and the nurse still sent me to labor and delivery (37 to 38 weeks). When I went in, they monitored me and said I wasn't really having contractions. They still made me walk around for an hour to see if anything changed. I ended up having a c section the same day as I was in active labor and went from 4 cm to 6 cm in one hour.

That nurse is just awful.
