How accurate are due dates with ultrasound? Posted: 11-26-07 16:23pm
im not the original person who asked the
question about how long do you really
carry your baby but the answers that
everyone posted was very helpful for me
because i was actually wondering the same
thing. but i do have a new question what
if the doctors are going based off a
ultrasound do that make the due date more
active? because my baby is breech and i am
now 34 5/7months pregnant but he keep
changing my due date first he told me that
i would have my baby on 01/03/08 now the
date changed to 01/07/08.... so again my
question is how active is the due date
based on an ultrasound? thanks in advance
for all help given.

Ultrasound dating is pretty accurate. But
let me remind you that this is an
ESTIMATED due date. Most women do not
deliver on their due dates. There is a
window of +/- 2 weeks either way. Usually
doctors won't let you go 2 weeks over your
due date, although some will.
That is only a 4 day difference - so
really, not that much give or take.
