Just Got Back From Hospital

Oh god what a long day! Got to the doctors
at 8.30am (They don't open til 9) There
was a huge queue. Waited 2 hours to be
seen only to be told I need to go back to
the clinic that fitted the coil.
Got there waited another hour to be seen
and she didn't know what was wrong. She
gave me antibiotics incase I had an
infection and said i needed to go back to
my doctors to get referred for a scan
cause they couldn't do it there! She said
it might take a while
So I was in way too much pain by now so I
made my way to the hospital accident and
emergency department. After waiting 3
hours and being taken from department to
department I FINALLY got an appointment
for 9.20am tomorrow morning for a scan.
They wanted me to stay in overnight but I
refused so they gave me some strong
painkillers and i have to go back in the
morning. I then waited another hour for my
tablets
P.s- they couldn't find the strings either

If they couldn't find the strings...does
that mean there is no coil?

The coil will still be there.I would of
felt it come out. I always check the
toilet after I've been (habit) and it
wasn't in my knickers. The said that if it
is displaced or has perforated my
uterus/cervix I will need an operation to
get it out- that did not impress me!!!
They also said even if it is in the right
place they would advise me to get it out
anyway as my body is having a bad reaction
to it. They said to wait at least 6 months
before getting another one

basically nancy, when i had my mirena coil
in last time I was always able to feel the
strings hanging down a bit and I never had
any pain. Now though I am having sharp
pains in my cervix and can't feel the
strings so I am worried the coil has moved
and either pierced my cervix or womb or
embedded itself
sarah, I will update you girls as soon as
i get abck from hospital tomorrow (unless
i'm too sore)

What will you do for birth control if they
have to take it out?
I'm sorry you're in so much pain. I hope
those pills work well!!

I would have to agree that isn't a good
idea.
But, you have had problems in the past
with brith control right?
Hopefully, you will be able to keep the
coil.

These things are really minor compared to
brain surgery but its still scary....the
thought of something attaching itself to
my uterine wall or cervix is pretty effin
scary! Im sure you will be more than ok
though.
