There are various types of hair loss with various causes.

Some types of hair conditions such as androgenetic alopecia (male alopecia) are genetically conditioned and mainly inevitable. It is important to note also that this condition is the most common type of hair loss condition in men. Sex-hormonal status and age also have great influence. Another condition, atrichia congenital, for example, is purely a genetic disorder.

Diet can’t cause alopecia but some toxins (heavy metals, thallium, herbal toxins…) in food or water or drugs (cytostatics, anticoagulants, contraceptives…) can cause alopecia. Such types of alopecia can be overcome if the toxin is removed. Lifestyle can cause alopecia in cases of:

1. Compressive alopecia – people who bear weight on their heads;
2. Traction alopecia – people who wear “horse/pony tail” haircut;
3. Trichotillomania – nervous people who pullout their hair.
