Is anyone familiar with seizures that move
around the body? Such as in the arm and
then a leg?

Could you be abit more specific? Like how
often, what time(s) for how long etc do
these "seizures" occur? Also do they go
straight from arm to leg or is it that
they are sometimes in one place & at
other times in another? Do they happen
after certain foods, exercises, rest
etc????

Do you mean muscle spasms or seizures?

They move around from the arms, usually
the right, to the legs. They last for
different time periods and generally occur
after extreme stress or mental fatigue.
No they are not muscle spasms.
My fiance had seizures several years ago
and they completely went away. He just
finished a 5 night 12-hour shift change at
his job, that is he worked from 6pm to 6am
5 nights in a row with only about 4-5 hrs
sleep each day, on top of that he was
under extreme stress at the job. I don't
believe foods are the problem, I try to
keep us on a healthy diet. Any food
culprits I should be aware of besides
sugar?
Thanks for your help.

So they move from (generally) the right
arm to the legs & generally after
extreme stress or mental fatigue. For
varying time periods.
Do they happen after/during sleep or rest
or sitting in a chair or in a car or
whatever & do they generally last say
5 minutes to 25 minutes??
You say seizures not muscle spasms, so
could you describe the feelings you
experience with them, as since we are in
different countries I often find that what
one nationality calls a spade another
calls a shovel etc & in giving
help/suggestions it would be best if we
could try tio be talking about the same
thing.
Have you tried rubbing any creams (for
muscle aches) in to the affected areas
(are the areas painful even if only some
of the time?)? Have you considered
position of limb might cause the problem
by reducing blood circulation or hitting a
nerve? What about hot or cold compresses,
have these been tried.

Thank you for your reply. This
information is regarding my fiance. The
seizures occur while he is resting or
asleep and are not painful. He sometimes
knows when they are about to occur but
other times not. You asked what a muscle
spasm was, I understand the language
difference. A muscle spasm is when a
muscle goes into a hard contraction, I
believe because the blood flow and oxygen
is restricted, there are many things that
cause this, fatigue of the muscle, injury,
alcohol (drinks), etc. It is usually very
painful and hard to ease. The seizures he
is having usually occur at night and after
lack of sleep and/or stress. I would say
they last 10 to 25 minutes. Topical
ointments are not the answer. He was on
an anti-seizure medication in the past but
could not tolerate the side affects. I
just learned there is a new medication
that can be taken at the onset of a
seizure, dissolves in the mouth, and it is
supposed to stop the seizure without side
affects. My daughter is looking into that
for me. That is new to me. Once again,
thank you.
