Okay so... I have this friend
(I'm a teenage girl, what do you want?)
Anyway, we've been hanging out. We met in
middle school & didn't see or talk to
each other until about 2 weeks ago. I saw
him a week ago for the first time in 4
years, and I have to say... mmm mmm mmm!!
haha.
Well, it turns out that he likes me, but
he's just getting out of a bad
relationship, & he told me tonight on
the phone
"I just don't want to start dating you
& then have you think that I'm only
using you to get over her, which is why I
want to wait, so I can prove to you that
I'm over her, because I really like you."
(it went something like that, and he
sounded so genuine when he said it.) &
I told him I understood, and he thanked me
and said he was really happy that we were
friends again. He also said that he
"really really hopes that we can have
something in the future, because he likes
me a lot"
Well this makes me happy. A guy that can
put his feelings out there!!!
Well last week we were at the mall &
we went into American Eagle and he found a
nice coat that he liked, but he picked it
up and it was 100 dollars & he didn't
have that much and he was pretty bummed
that he couldn't get it. So I thought
about buying it for him for Christmas
& putting it in my friend Tylers car
& having tyler give it to him (since
they go to the same tech school in the
afternoons)
Do you think that's too much? (or do you
think I should get something else, or not
buy anything at all.)
I don't want to seem like I'm trying too
hard.. I just want him to think "wow,
that's really sweet of her, I really like
this girl!"
But I'm pessimistic & I tend to think
the worst lol
Sorry this ended up being fairly long.

It is expensive, but I'm using my next two
paychecks for Christmas shopping. I just
want him to be like "wow" and show him
that I'm a great girl & that I saw how
much he wanted it so I got it for him to
make him happy.
I wanna show him that I'm nothing like his
ex girlfriend lol

i think its sorta too much.. i mean, it'll
look like ur trying to hard, u know what
im saying? Kinda like, ur trying to buy
him into dating you.
Thats just my opinion.. ITs a cute
gesture, but its a bit much for somebody
ur just friends with that u havent talked
to in 4 years.
Is this the boy from Facebook?

Yup it sure is.
& i get what you're saying, which is
why I asked on here, to get others
opinions lol
maybe just buying him something that I
know he'll like, and then making a silly
card or something would be better.

I agree, I think it's too much. You need
to be careful he doesn't end up seeing you
as someone he can use for money/gifts.
Save the big pressies for when you're in a
committed relationship.

maybe get him a gift certificate to a nice
restaurant like Chili's or something, or
maybe an Arch Card (mcdonalds) you cant
lose with food with guys.

He obviously already realizes that you are
a special girl. I also don't think that
guys (genuine guys atleast) like to be on
the recieving end of the more expensive
gift.

and i even spend that much on each other.
Maybe get him a $25 gift card to American
Eagle with a card saying "help towards
that coat" or something so he sees you wre
paying attention

lol if i did that i'd feel cheap.
but thats just me.
i think getting him something else like,
maybe a giftcard to some place fun like an
arcade then putting a poloroid pic of the
coat in the envelope with a cute note that
says *i know you wanted this.. but i got
you *This* instead. hope u like it!*
mreh... just a suggestion.

you would want to top every gift after
that. So I would have to agree. Dont buy
it.

Great idea Dani! It would show that
you're paying attention. No need to get
him a gift card to a restaurant when you
know he wants a coat from there. If you
spend 25 bucks, spend it on something he
wants.
