Q: Losing my Mucus Plug?

I really hope someones online that can help me wit this. I think i'm losing my plug. I woke up this morning *warning* tmi! With a thick white booger substance in my undies. It had a small patch of brownish red in it. Is this the plug? I have never had anything think like that. And if so does my doctor need to see me, or do i just go on my way?

Thanks!

Yep. That is your plug and no, your doctor doesn't need to see you Wink It means there are some changes in your cervix and it is normal.

YAY!

well at my visit yesterday i was 75% thinned, and 1cm dilated. I guess that explains my need to clean everything last night lol.

Yeah it sounds like the plug! Like Ingi said it's not something you need to rush to your dr about .

So if the water breaks is what can cause infection when lost, or the plug? I remember reading something about infection when losing something.

Yeah, it is when the water breaks that you can introduce risk of infection.

Well i'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but i had my first at 37 weeks. I don't really think i'll make it to full term. That and we've been messing with a two week difference since 8 weeks. I really don't know.

My thought would be that it makes it easier for people to know what is inside the thread. Sometimes a lot of people just use a generic "HELP!" or some other such phrase as their title.

It may have been changed to give a better idea as to what was being asked. Wink
