My Appt Today
Posted: 11-30-07 13:01pm

So that was an uneventful appointment that I had today. I had to see the guy doctor that's backing up my other doctor until she gets back Sunday afternoon.

Everything is still great with Dante. Smile Had to laugh b/c the doc told me that he has a girl's hb. I know there's no truth in that. He also said that his head is really low, which is good.

Other than that, he didn't check me or anything because he said he didn't want to stir anything up, and that he hopes I'll hold out until Sunday so that my doctor can deliver me.

Apparently she really wants to deliver me. I have an appt on Monday with her when she's back, so hopefully then I have get some word when he's going to come!

Walk Wink I know, probably the last thing you want to do in the winter - but gravity is your friend right now. The lower Dante's head is, the better to open your cervix and the more you will progress.

Good luck!

i looked it up on a website and there are some natural ways to bring on labour. ill name a few
love making, nipple stimulation, walking, complemantary therapies (acupuncture or reflexology)
you should ignore the advice to take laxatives (eg castor oil). these can lead to discomfort, sometimes pain and possibly complications, such as infections and dehydtration
i hope dante gets here soon. good luck x

LMAO I've tried it all. I walked around Walmart and Target for 4 hrs the other night, I walk around campus at school and I'm always on my feet at work. And we've had sex, tried the nipple stimulation, and pressure points. None of it has worked yet.

Smile Hopefully he'll come Sunday night when my doctor's back in town. Maybe that's what he's waiting for.

Eat a REAL pineapple. Well the kind that you have to cut up yourself! I read somewhere that it has something in it that starts contractions or whatever. If you google it you may find it. I ate one the night before I went into labor. Its worth a try lol

For this baby in my belly's sake, I HOPE that's not true.

I really like pineappe. And can sometimes over indulge!!! I LOVE fresh pineapple. Canned is almost TOO syrup-y? LOL!!

This is what I found. I could swear this is what started my labor!

Pineapple is said to induce labor as well. Pineapple, as well as papaya and mango, contain a proteolytic enzyme called bromelain. When bromelain is consumed with meals, it assists in the digestion of proteins. When taken on an empty stomach, bromelain acts medicinally as an anti-inflammatory agent. Therefore, naturopathic medicine uses this enzyme to reduce pain and swelling.

The mechanism by which pineapple contributes to inducing labor might be the proteolytic action of bromelain. Bromelain might help to soften the connective tissue of the cervix and, thus, bring on labor. Because bromelain is destroyed in the production process of canned pineapple, you should consume only fresh pineapple flesh if you are trying to induce labor with pineapple.

If your cervix is unripe -- and you are not fond of eating plenty of pineapple -- you can also use prostaglandin to help soften and ripen the cervix. You can use prostaglandins directly on the cervix or you can take it orally.

LOL That's what I'm saying! Very
Happy I'm done trying to do the things that supposeably help induce labor. I've already tried a bunch of things (excluding castor oil and pineapple).

Hopefully I'll get good news on Monday. Very
Happy
