I have suffered from chronic otitis media
(recurring problem with the fluid in my
ears not draining because it's too thick)
for over 30 years. I have had literally
over 100 myringotomies between both ears,
and have had a tube implanted in my right
ear for about 6 years now (the left one
fell out; my eardrums are so scarred from
all the punctures that they are almost
completely deflated; they couldn't even
get the tube in my left ear all the way in
surgically).
I had not had a major episode in several
years, but about 2 months ago I had the
worst onslaught of my life, with total
congestion of both ears. Thank goodness I
do not suffer any pain to speak of, nor do
I suffer from any equilibrium issues. But
the constant oozing of the vagina fluid
out of the right ear tube and the
distortion of sound, often being near
deaf, wears more than thin after a while.
I did not get any relief for about 6
weeks.
I went to an ent (unfortunately my old ent
has left the state and this guy was
new...) who proclaimed that my ears were
"malfunctioning." duh!
The last several days, although I have not
been experiencing congestion to the point
of distress, the right ear is constantly
oozing/seeping fluid. Very unsettling, as
it means my ears have not stabilized.
Anybody out there with any suggestions??
I didn't even mention how my tinnitis is
extreme, and the decibel level during
these episodes is not to be believed.
It's like a tv test pattern in my head at
high volume all the time!

I have some minor experience with this
(not the tinnitus thank god) but nothing
like you describe - western medicine can
be somewhat useless at times so my
suggestion would be alternative therapy -
chinese herbalism , accupuncture, bowen
therapy, naturopathy etc.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any
specific suggestions as to what herbs?
I've never heard of bowen therapy; what is
that?

Both I and my 2 kids have had bowen
therapy for a variety of ailments but I
can't explain it. Try looking for
alternative medicine practitioners like
naturopaths, homeopaths &
accupuncturists as many of them would know
about if not practise bowen therapy. What
I did was -( there are alot of bowen
therapists in america ) go to google type
in bowen therapy then do a search under
your state - choose one who has done an
advanced module.
Aside from bowen though there are other
treatments like homeopathy, chinese
herbalism, naturopathy etc that you could
try.
