Am I the only one that is completely obsessed with Hairspray, movie and soundtrack? It became one of my all time favorite movies when I was like nine. And now that the remade it, it's my ABSOLUTE favorite. I've listened to the soundtrack like 100 times and watched the DVD repeatedly. Sad, but true. Just wondering if anyone shares my obsession. I know! I was hoping she would have some kind of role in the movie but she just walks in and sits in the audience Confused

? But, you should definitely see the new one. It's perfectly cast. GREAT movie.

I know, how random is that? He's creeped me out forever. But, cracked me up in this movie. Even my mom was like, "I never thought I'd hear you say that! (that he cracked me up instead of creeped me out)." Don't let him keep you from seeing the movie though!

i haven't seen the new movie yet, but i want to. i remember first seeing the original (i'm going to sound old here...) like 19 years ago and i've loved it ever since. i saw the musical a few months ago and i loved it. i went straight home and downloaded the broadway soundtrack and was hugely disappointed. tracy's voice is so annoying i can't stand it. i can't believe they went with that! so then i downloaded the movie soundtrack and it's ok. penny on the broadway soundtrack has an amazing voice, amanda bynes is barely scraping by on her soundtrack. if they could replace broadway tracy's voice with movie tracy's, i would listen to it all the time.

Movie Tracy looks and sounds so much like Ricki Lake! And you are right about Amanda's voice, she can't dance either. The only dance scene she has is at the very end and after like 30 seconds she gets shoved to the back. But, she still did a really good job at playing Penny.
