How is your diet going Michelle I've been wondering
about you!
I just want this thread to be about diets
and being healthy lol im gaining so much
weight lately, and im acting like it's so
out of my control when it's not. I ate a
half gallon of ice cream in two freaking
days, guys. I cannot keep doing that, it's
disgusting.
I go to the gym every other day for first
hour at school, i need to take advantage
of this! PROM IS COMING! I'm just
frustrated with myself beecause I'll say
I'm going to diet and then I miss my junk
food and I give up. It's frustrating. I
want to do it without giving up lol
I just wanna bang my head against a wall.
I hate food.

Hey! Thanks for asking! Well the not
drinking soda part of the diet is going
great, I've been drinking about 64+ ounces
of water a day & I've only been
getting the urge about every other day or
so to have a soda so I drink Diet Caffeine
Free Pepsi. I'm so happy my withdrawal
symptoms went away, that was the worst! As
for food though, I've been trying to watch
what I eat but that's hard. I figure I got
one thing out of the way though & that
was how much soda I was drinking a day.
Now I just need to work on eating
healthier. I'm a sucker for ice cream too!
I hate it when we don't have any in the
house but when we do I just want to sit
down & eat a huge bowl of it. I
haven't been working out as much as I want
too, it's hard finding the energy for it
after chasing Kaylee around (Which is a
workout all in itself!). I have an
exercise ball but I get bored with the
routines that I have & I don't feel
like crunches & all that really do
anything. It's hard to not eat whatever
you want, I completely understand that
one! I think you can do it though Terra! I
feel so good about myself when for one
day, I eat right the whole entire day..
That gives me that extra boost to keep
doing it. Like yesterday my sister & I
went to the mall.. I didn't eat anything
for breakfast (I know, big no no) but I
had a glass of milk before we left. When
we got to the mall instead of eating KFC
& getting chicken & mashed
potatoes, a biscuit & a soda like I
usually get I got a 1/2 a sub at Subway
& a bottle of water. In the meantime
my sister went to an Italian place &
had raviolis & pizza & the whole 9
yards but I still did good! She was
drinking soda's all day while I was
drinking my water. I've never been this
set on dieting in my whole life! That's
awesome that you go to the gym every other
day, you're one step ahead of me just by
doing that! You can do it Terra, I know
you can! I think you & I kinda have
the same body type so I know how hard it
can be to lose some weight! I'm always
here if you wanna talk though
I am working on a diet too, i am 135 now
but my goal is 120, i stopped drinking
soda as well , just juice, tea and water,
and lately ive been making ham and cheese
sandwiches with nothing on them no
condiments. normal dinners some nights and
sometimes a small dinner, im bad i always
forget breakfast but i got these yummy
yogurts called froop, it has plain ypgurt
and on top is real fruit and stuff, and u
mix them together. joseph loves it too. I
dont have junk food in the house besides
doritoes that i got ot bring to the girl
scout meetingbut the co leader is bringing
popcorn instead but i had to get soda for
it. i wanna get as close to 120 as i can
when jason gets back.

I'm starving but I don't like what I made
for dinner. Shane brought home pizza today
for lunch so I think I'm gonna cheat on my
diet for a little while & have a piece
of pizza..

Mish its ok to cheat every now and again..
most dieticians will tell you that.. if
you keep yourself from EVERYTHING you
love, you'll be more likely to fail at the
diet because of all the temptations.
i have one day a week where i let myself
have a regular soda, or dessert, or
something not so healthy for lunch.. sort
of like a treat for being so good about it
all week.

It's really not cheating so much as
keeping yourself on course. It's easier to
diet and restrict certain foods if you
don't eliminate them. That way, when you
do have them, you don't go all overboard.
I've lost like 6ish lbs by not eating
lunch. I have ADHD, and I take a
ritalin-derived substance (Concerta) to
help me concentrate. A side effect is
suppressed appetite. I'm never hungry, so
I go to the library every day during
lunch. The librarians are my favorite
people ever. They spend a heck of a lot of
time trying to get me to eat, but one of
them has a son who has ADHD and is taking
Concerta, so she knows where I'm coming
from.
Meanwhile, I have 24lbs to lose by March
14th.

Well Michelle, I am very proud of you!!! I
think the giving up pop thing is a big
accomplishment! Just giving up pop will
make you see a difference & make you
feel better, too! We can be eachothers
motivation haha
I just don't want to say "oh YES I'm gonna
do a diet, I'm gonna DO THIS, im so
PUMPED!!" and then just fail like I have
the last 500 times.
I went to the gym this morning, got up
earlier than usual so I could be there
longer (but decided needed to get up even
EARLIER!) & then I went to get my
paycheck and got a strawberry yogurt bar
and a water! A heck of a lot better than
that bowl of ice cream I had for beakfast
the other day haha
A really good piece of advice is to always
try to make breakfast your biggest meal of
the day. Not only does it prevent you from
over-eating later in the day but because
you are active for the rest of the day you
burn it off. Whereas if supper is your
biggest meal you go to bed not long after
so you end up storing it.
Just thought that i would throw that in
It really does
work!

My two suggestions:
1.) Crystal Light 'on the go' packs. Those
things are awsome. It is a wonderful way
to avoid the soda (sometimes, you've just
had enough water, lol) They have these
great 'energy' ones. It had the same
amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee (my
biggest downfall) so you don't get the
nasty headaches and it tastes like wild
strawberry. Yum. They also have green tea
with honey and all kinds of flavors.
2.) Soup. It is a great lunch. It is
healthy and low in calories and you feel
full pretty quick. If you buy it from
Publix in their deli, it is made fresh so
it is low in sodium and it tastes Fab!

Thanks Terra! I'm proud of you also,
changing up what you're eating for
breakfast is a big step! I'm jealous you
get to go to a gym!
I try so hard to make breakfast my biggest
meal but I never feel like eating in the
morning so that's hard. I've been doing a
little better though & since I have to
make Kaylee meals & snacks & I
obviously don't want her eating &
drinking junk I tend to make healthier
things.

Thanks for the ideas guys
& I'm trying to think of things that I
could make for breakfast, I cannot wait
until I live on my own so I can control
what gets bought for groceries, instead of
having my grandma do it.
I'm gonna have subway for dinner tonight.
I'm not so much on a diet, I've just
realized that I need to stop eating so
much JUNK and eat things that I know are
healthy. I'm starving haha

Terra have Quiznos for lunch instead! A
lot of their subs are really healthy!
for my breakfast, i've been making yummy
omlets.. use an egg substitute like egg
beaters for less calories (its YUMMY trust
me you cant even tell) then put lowfat
shredded cheese, and you can buy a bag of
diced potatoes that already have the
onions and peppers cut up into it.. put it
all in a skillet, and just pay attention
and flip it over before it burns.
OH and dont be like Katie..make sure u
turn the heat on.
