I've had A LOT of issues with my insurance & been through a lot of hell, really with my doctor's office... Up until this point, we've been seen in a nearby clinic, in the emergency room once, & in L&D this past week. Finally now that everything is resolved, we have a doctor & an appt!! I guess it took going into pre-term labor for them to realize some things. I have my 1st doctor's appt. this Friday (12/07), I'll be 22 weeks pregnant.. & we really want to see our baby! Does an ultrasound get scheduled by my doctor -or will my doctor more than likely send me in for an ultrasound right after my routine appt? & do you think she'll do the painful pap smear, that she already did just last week when I was in the hospital?

I am 21 weeks now and have had 2 ultrasounds by my doctor, and he also scheduled one at the hospital (they have better equipment). The one at the hospital was at 18 weeks, and he wrote it up to check the size and age of the baby, and added anatomy to it so I could find out what it was. If he had wrote it up for just anatomy my insurance wouldn't have paid for it, but since he wanted a confirmed due date and stuff they will. Weird. I had the pap and the vaginal ultrasound at 6 weeks and my doctor said I wouldn't have to do that again until I was 36 weeks or around there.

They almost always do the big ultrasound around 20 weeks to check that the baby is developing properly, so I'll bet you get one. I had my big u/s at 21 weeks.
