Cuts And Pain In Vaginal Area - yeast infection?
Posted: 12-04-07 08:56am

I am in so much pain. I woke up 4 days ago with a horribly swollen and tender vagina. It was itchy and painful in certain areas. I just got over strep throat and was on augmenten, an antibiotic, so I figured it was a yeast infection. I did the monistat 1 daytime suppository, but it didn't seem to help. I don't know if I trust the one day treatment that i am taking during the day. I got my period the day after I used monistat. Anyway, the issue is not getting better. I don't seem to have any blisters, I just look red and sore and have some little cuts at the top of my labia. I just ended a long term relationship, and we had both been tested. I was actually just tested again for everything, including herpes, in may. I just started dating a new guy, but he has been tested (or so he says) and we have always used condoms, no unprotected sex at all. Do you think this is just a bad yeast infection and a dose a diflucan will help, or could it be herpes. I need to wait until i finish my period to see my doctor, but in the meantime its driving me crazy! Please help!

Well, if I know what I know about yeast infections, it does not include cuts on the labia. It is a viral infection in the vagina itself that causes a discharge that is thick like cottage cheese at time and itches.

One natural remedy you can try is to bruise a bulb of garlic in some boiled water soak a tampon in it and then insert it into the vagina. Do not insert any garlic into the vagina. Garlic has the potential to burn in condense version on the eperdermis, so imagine what it would do internally.

There's something else in your post I would like to comment on. You said that you new partners says he is tested and clear. Have you seen how recently he has been tested, as in looking at the papers yourself. You are entitled. Your life is not a thing one should gamble with. Taking someone's word on this issue could prove fatal.

I would ask to see his most recent test results, and even then, I would have protected sex and test every three months for six months before considering unprotected sex.

Look at it this way, by six months, if the relationship was crap, you don't have to worry about any residual effects in your future. A clear conscience , nothing beats that.

It doesnt sound like a herpes outbreak. It sounds more like a bacterial infection. Try soaking in a warm bath with 1 cup of baking soda. This will ease your swelling and itching. But definately see a doctor. You probably need medication or just dilfucan like you said.

Your natural approach is a new one for me. I make a note of it, for future references.
