breast atrophy and thick hair growth
Posted: 12-05-07 02:21am

I am a young woman and have had no periods for the past 2 years. During this time my breasts have reduced more than a cup size, my body hair became darker and thicker, and my sex drive is much much much higher. My doctor put me on Yaz - I am now on the first month's placebo week and have had a withdrawal bleed. However, my breast size has not increased (although my hips and thighs are fuller, which suggests estrogen is in my system doesn't it?) and I still have the thick hair growth. i was hoping the pill would resolve these issues because they severely affect my self esteem. does anyone know if there is a treatment for this?

Your Symptomes May Suggest Pcos

I am also young and have had all your symptoms as well as a few others. I found out about 5 years ago that I have PCOS ( Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). There is so much more information on the internet now than what used to be. It is so important that you get diagnosed as soon as possible. I would also suggest that you work with a specialist that knows about PCOS. Birth control is not the answer. Proper health habits, such as regular excersize and healthy eating, along with a medication such as Glucophage may also be recommended to you. I was on medication for about 4 years before I was able to get off of it. Now I am able to control my PCOS with different supplements and diet/excersize. I would also recommend going on a full body cleans. After doing one myself, I noticed significant differences. I am definitely not anti meds, but I believe that they are a tool to getting things started in a different direction. If you have anything at all that you need or would like information about, let me know.
