4 Ultrasounds And Still Confused On Gender... Posted: 12-05-07 03:18am
Okay my first 3 ultrasounds went well and
the Dr.s all said I was having a baby
girl. During these ultrasounds we were
lucky to get up close crotch shots, no
legs or umbilicord in the way. Knowing
that I felt secure on the results because
the 1st ultrasound was done at 5 months,
2nd one done at 7 months and 3rd one done
at 8 1/2 months, to me thats enough time
for a penis to have showed up right? Or at
least the scrotum has to have dropped by
then? Well anyways I'm confused because I
just had a fourth u/s done and the Dr.
said he thinks its a boy and showed me
what looked like a pair of balls, this
scared me because out of the 3 other times
we found nothing like this before. Does
this mean if its a boy that my sons balls
dropped late or that something is wrong
with his penis? I'm so confused. This 4th
Dr. only showed me what he said was the
balls, he never did find/show me the
actual penis so I'm kinda hoping its still
a girl because I have all girl stuff lol.
Anyways the u/s picture shows a big, round
circle, a line through the very center of
it, then along side of the center line
there was an oval shaped thing, one on the
left and one on the right. Totally looks
like balls to me so thats why I'm
confused. I've heard that a clitoris and
libia can look like that too in an u/s and
the 1st I got done looked similar to that
but the ovals on each side is what struck
me as weird because thats way diff then
all my u/s from before. Well if you girls
have any advice let me know. Thanks!

I think it could still be a girl. The
labia in a fetus can swell at times,
making it look almost like a scrotum, the
line in between being the crease between.
I've never heard anything about the 2
ovals you describe though. How sure did
the 4th dr. seem?
If it does turn out to be a boy then i
doubt anything is wrong with the penis or
scrotum. They were probably just tucked
away before.

best advice is
save your recipts
no ultrasound is 100%
id say its a girl, but just to be careful
save the recipts

Why do people always say save your
receipts? Sorry i'm from Canada so i'm not
familiar with how the billing on u/s is in
the states.
Do you get your money back if they are
wrong about the sex or something?

I believe what she meant by save the
recipts was so if she has a boy she can
bring back the girl clothes.... Im from
Cananda to and i understood her lol....

Listen untill 16 weeks of preg both boys
and girls look the same since boys have a
penis and girls have a pseudopenis(female
organs that develop outside the body in
early stages.) around 16 week the female
genitalia is retracted into the body. So
if you had one done at 5mo and they say
it's a girl than it must be a girl. Plus
noone dose 3D or 4D to determine gender.
Gender has to be done 17-21 weeks in 2D
ONLY!!! Don't stress keep the pinks!
