Will growth or surgery on fallopian tubes injure fetus?
Posted: 12-05-07 03:41am

I Went into the emergancy room tonight after finding out that i am 5 1/2 weeks pregnant because i have been feeling a sharp pain right about were my overies and fallopian tubes are and it conserned me. While i was there they did an ultrasound and found a fetus growing in my uterus, They also found something growing on the outside of my fallopian tubes. the radioligist said it didnt look like a cyst to him but more like another fetus growing on the outside of my falopian tube. They said that if that is really what it is then i will need surgery to have the fetus on the outside of my tube removed so it doesnt cause any health problems for me or the baby in the Uterus. If i end up needing to have this surgery what are the odds that it would kill the fetus inside my uterus?

What ever is present outside the Fallopian tube should be removed as soon as possible in order to prevent any further complications for you and your baby. It doesn’t seem likely that surgery will harm, injure, or kill the fetus inside the uterus. Rather, the opposite is more likely: that a surgery will help promote growth and health.
