Q: Bloody Show?

I'm 39 weeks pregnant. Last night, I had what I think is the bloody show. I had lost most of the mucus plug a few weeks ago. It was globby and snotty looking but not blood-tinged. Around 3 AM this morning, I had discharge with flecks of blood in it. DH and I hadn't DTD in a couple of days and I haven't had much spotting with sex anyway and when it did happen, it was more pinkish discharge, not blood colored, and it's been since Monday at my last OB exam and I doubt it is from that (my doctor's internal exams are very gentle). The one time I spotted after my internal exam, it was also pinkish in color and that same day. I'm hoping maybe this is the start of something!

I haven't been having regular contractions, just off/on BH contractions. I've been having more AF-like cramping and backaches (but all very mild, nothing to rush to the hospital about). I'm hoping, hoping, hoping this means labor will be around the corner.

Does it sound like this could be the bloody show? For BTDT moms, how long after the bloody show did labor begin?

It depends on how long from the bloody show to labor - no one is the same. This could also be from when your doctor checked you - since they have to insert their finger into your cervix to see if it is dilated. When they check you, sometimes things get 'stirred' up! Wink

This could be it though! Good luck!

Sounds like the same thing I've had the past 2 days from when my doctor stripped my membranes. Smile

I was induced at 37 weeks & I had a bloody show in the early stages of labour, a few hours after the doctor got things going. My daughter was born about 12 hours after I had the show.

There isn't long to go now, no matter what happens!
