Cramps And Brown Discharge Two Weeks Before Period? Posted: 12-06-07 15:02pm
I'm twenty one years old, and I have been
on the pill for a few years now. Four or
five days ago, I started having really bad
cramps, and then last night I started
having brown discharge. I never get cramps
except one or two days before and then
during. I have been taking an antibiotic
for a few days now for another problem, so
I was thinking that could be why because I
heard they make birth control pills work
less. But I took it for a few weeks about
a month and a half ago and never had a
problem. I don't know if I could be
pregnant, because my estrogen level is
really low. Or could I have been pregnant,
but be miscarrying? I am really worried
and confused someone please help! Thanks.

It's doubtful that you are miscarrying
since the discharge you described was
brown. Usually when you see brown or dark
blood, it means it's old.
The cramps and spotting could be due to a
few things-pregnancy, ovarian cysts, etc.
It could be the birth control you are
taking as well. In any case, it is
probably not anything too serious. I
would just wait until you get your period.
If you are not pregnant, then maybe you
should consider making an appointment with
your gynecologist.

I'm trying to aviod going to a doctor
because I have no insurance and have
thousands of dollars in medical bills
already. I didn't think I could be
pregnant considering my estrogen level is
as low as it would be if I was in
menopause.

How do you know your estrogen level is so
low? Just wondering.
If you need, you can just visit a health
clinic. It's usually free.
