I have an acne since I was 13 years old. I
am 23 now. I tried different medicines and
it didn't work. Topical here, and oral
antibiotics there and still it was a
problem. Then I tried isotretinoin capsule
which was prescribed to me by my doctor.
It's really amazing because of all the
medications that i had used, this is the
only drug that works. This is my fourth
month of treatment. I am on 1 cap every
other day. But my story is not yet
done,lol.. I forgot to add that during the
first 2 weeks of the first month, I was
terrified because my acne flared up more
than before. And then I realized that, it
was a normal reaction of the body..It's
like cleaning of the underlying skin
wherein all the comedones are removed.
then I saw the improvement on my skin
during the 3rd week. All of the people who
knows me noticed the improvement. I am
regaining my confidence now which was lost
over the past 10 years.
Right now, I am on Essentiale Forte 2x a
day for 2 months plus 1 cap isotretinoin
every other day. My doctor prescribed me
an essentiale forte(liver supplement)
because my SGPT and SGOT increased beyond
the normal level. The normal SGPT is from
30-60 I guess. Mine rocketed to 107.
Whoever is a doctor in here, I would like
to ask for help because I am so worried
about my liver and kidneys (since it is a
nephrotoxic or kidney damaging).
Will there be a problem with 107 SGPT?
What management do you suggest me to do? I
am planning to go to an internist because
I think my dermatologist is not very
intellectual with regards to internal
medicine. I don't like to take a risk. We
all know that once the kidneys are
damaged, they are damaged forever and you
will have to undergo dialysis. I don't
want that to happen. Neither I would like
to have Liver cirrhosis or whatever kidney
disease.
Please help. your suggestions will be
appreciated! Til then!
