Bedrest.... :(
Posted: 12-07-07 13:41pm

Well what i dreaded this whole pregnancy has come. Bed rest... for the rest of the pregnancy. My last day was the 20th, but that still puts us behind on money for two weeks. I have to use my vacation sooner than expected. I just hope we can make it by money wise Sad Oh well i guess i get to start my maternity leave early. I'm really not sad about it lol, just about the money. I go in monday to check my BP again, and if it stays high for another week, or worse they will just induce me. *sigh* what am i going to do with myself in this house for 2 weeks!?!?!? lol better get some good books Very
Happy

Do you crochet? Knit? Draw? Paint? I think I'd find some little crafty things to keep my hands busy Wink

Books are good. So are movies. If you have some friends who can come by for lunch in the middle of the day to break up the monotony, that would be GREAT!

My doctor threatened me with bed rest a couple times while I was pregnant, thankfully it never came to that. Do you have a pogo account? That's what I'd be doing!

I was on bedrest for 4 weeks with Geneva. It sucked. I did some paperwork I could take home with me from work to get a little extra income while I was just lying there. The other thing is watch moves and sleep as much as possible. Keep your feet up. Have friends visit you during the day so that you can have some interaction. Get your computer moved to your bedside and chat with us!

I know how you feel. Be glad that you are as far along as you are. I am only 31 weeks and I'm on bedrest indefinitely right now. I'm allowed to like go out to eat if I'm feeling well. If I feel bad though I'm only allowed up for water and the bathroom. In the end it will be worth it though, because my little one definitely needs to bake a little longer. How far along are you now?

you're allowed to go out to eat while on bedrest? i felt fine and i still wasn't allowed to get off the couch for anything.

i really really really hope i have an uneventful 3rd trimester this time.

I'm only allowed to go out if I'm not actively having problems. He tries not to limit you too much. It took going in to L&D 3 times having contractions stopped to even be put on bedrest. That was all with him knowing that I was dilating. Don't ask me. I'm just doing what the doc told me. I went to eat with my mom today but came right home and got back in bed. Even though I'm feeling okay I'm not very brave. I was worried but figured my doc knows best.

aww, bed rest doesn't sound like much fun. Tho I wouldn't mind it for a day or 2 myself! Very
Happy
Do you send Christmas cards to family and friends? if so maybe you could do those while resting? Or as you said, stock up on some good books. Crafts may be an idea. Or....sit on a chair in front of a "junk drawer" (don't we all have these? I know I've got one...maybe 2) and sort it out? Good luck

My mom was on bedrest with me beginning in early April 1991. I wasn't born until June 13th. 21 (? I can't count!) days before my July 4th due date, mind you.
And this was a time before laptops and internet and cable/sattelite with more channels than you have bones in your body. I can't even imagine having to do that!

Yeah it was a boring night lol. But then again i was all alone. Fiance was working, and Chyanne stayed at the inlwas for the wedding dinner. So it might not be so bad if i had someone with me lol.
