I hate shopping right now. The only thing I want to to get the bf is an XBOX 360 but they cost so much, Does anyone know of a place to buy them cheaper than average? Used and refurbished items are fine as well.

I would advise anyone NOT to get the Xbox 360. We've already had to send ours back once to be 'fixed'. They all have hardware errors and they are a ticking time bomb as to when they'll break.

If I could do it again, I'd get the Playstation3 - it has blueray (xbox doesn't, you have to buy the add on to play your movies), plus it is free to play your games online with your friends. Xbox charges.

We wish we wouldn't have bought the Xbox now Sad

YEah PS3 is cool... when i worked at Toshiba we got to mess around with them, plus my cousin has one.. the graphics are AMAZING and it isnt made by Microsoft which is why the XBOX is a POS.

I suggest buying him the Xbox 360 arcade version. It's cheaper, and unlike the older version without a hard drive, it comes with a memory card with more than enough space on it to save all the games he would want to. The only difference between it and the more expensive versions is that it can't play regular xbox games (I'm assuming because the chipset for that is in the hard drive, which it doesn't have), and a smaller memory capacity (which he'll never miss, and if for some crazy reason he does if he one day decides to upload his entire music collection onto his xbox, then he could always go and fork over the 99 bucks for a hard drive later).

We are currently on our sixth xbox 360. Yes you read that right. Some lasted a day, then over heated right away and were exchanged, others looked like they were running fine until 7 months later when they too got the "can not read disk" error. However, if you ever have a problem after 90 days of purchase (before then you can just take it back to the store and exchange it for a new one), xbox will send you a box with paid shipping and they will repair it for you free of charge. While waiting for the last one to be repaired, my husband broke down and just bought an xbox 360 arcade version to tie him over during the waiting period (lol... I know, he's a dork). It supposedly does not have the same problems, and so far we have had no problems with it and we've had it about two months now. It also is sooo much quieter than the other versions, and the actual console looks cooler to me as it is solid white without the silver tray. Oh, and did I mention it's a lot cheaper? ...get one Very

He hates the playstations. He said he would go for the PS3 but those cost way more. I am looking into it for now and we will see how it goes.

I am on to another idea. He loves the Anaheim Ducks and I was thinking about getting him a signed jersey.

Sounds like a good idea! At least you wouldn't have to risk it breaking! Very

He is giving ideas only the xbox is about 300. I can get teh jersey for about 170 or a signed mini helmet for 140.

Do you think the jersey or the helmet would be better?

I'd think the Jersey would be better put to use than a mini helmet (unless he will just display the Jersey)

Well the jersey is the new style which he isnt too fond of. My dad gave him an older style jersey last season so he can get that one signed as well.

I ended up going with the helmet though. The main reason is the helmet is signed by the entire 2007 championship team and the jersey was only signed by part of this years team. The same signitures from the helmet on any jersey were going for over 700 so he better like it. Wink

He def. would not like a wii. He refused to use the one at the house he was sitting a few months ago because he thinks they are lame.

I know he will like the helmet. I am also going to get him an air-soft gun closer to christmas.

I do! If he gets stuck on games he can play for hours. He could go through an entire season of baseball on his old xbox in no time. Trust me, I don't miss it.

My fiance wants a wii so bad. But i can't find 300$ to get him one. So he's going to have to wait till income tax time. I can't wait to get one though. It's really good fun for the whole family. We play our friends quite a bit. We bought a ps2 and have never touched it since. I hope it isn't the same with the wii. I like the wii though cause you get up, and are active.

I've heard that they fixed the "ring of fire" on the Xbox 360.... alot of ppl prefer them over other consuls... if you have an older one and you get the ring of fire send it in and they will replace it with the fixed version.... I cant help out to much with this area, I have not purchased a game system since the N64 was out... I try to avoid them cuz I'd get hooked and become a zombie...lol...
