I have been on the pill for almost two
years now, and recently I kept taking the
pill to skip my period. I did this last
month. The other day, I finished a pack
and I am on the placebo pills. My period
has not come yet, and I figure it's
because my cycle's all messed up. I had
sex with my boyfriend, and now I am scared
becuse I don't know if I am at risk for
pregnancy or not.

Hey girl im in exactly the same boat as
you! Skipped pills and had sex, so idk if
I missed my period this week because I am
preggo (doubt it) or if its because I
screwed up my cycle! I am taking a test
next tuesday.
Are you going to test?

I got my period, thank god. I am just
confused about weather or not you are
still protected when you stop your period
by skipping placebos and starting new
pack.....Or does it mess up your cycle so
much that you are unprotected when you
decide to take placebos again.....

As long as you do not miss any of the
pills with hormones then you should still
be protected. Just make sure you let
yourself have a period every third month.

Ok so I didn't know that if you didn't
take the sugar pills you wouldn't have
your period and that would be ok. I'm
using the patch right now but I used to
use the pill. Is that really ok?

Yeah, it is o.K as long as you let
yourself have a period every third month.
But, it does not work for all people. I
have tried starting my new pack the day I
was suppose to start the placebos and I
got my period anyway. So, it just
depends on the person. You could
probably do the same with the patch, just
don't take the week off. But, it depends
on your body's response.
