Now Engaged, Less Love? Posted: 12-11-07 18:46pm
I proposed to my girlfriend of four years
on Thanksgiving Day which was the first
time I actually spoke in a little over ten
years (I'm a mute). Since then we haven't
been the same...
I started talking again and she was
thrilled but it seems like our actual love
life hasn't just dwindled but it died all
together. We both work about the same
hours everyday so I wouldn't say that's
the problem. Our entire relationship was
based on her understanding that I couldn't
talk and for some reason, I think that as
soon as I started talking again, she
stopped loving me. Does that sound at all
logical?

It doesn't really sound logical. Maybe
she's just feeling apprehensive about
marrying someone with that sort of
limitation. In any case, since she was
thrilled with the engagement and you've
been together so long, I would say
whatever it is will likely pass. Maybe
you should try writing her a long letter?

I didn't think it sounded logical. We had
a long talk/signing session about marriage
a few months ago and she didn't say
anything about my "limitations." Her whole
family thought I tripped the rift when I
spoke and she couldn't have been happier.
I'll try the letter, there's a lot to say
but thank you for the suggestion and
advise.
