Heart Races And I Get Shaky At Work Posted: 12-13-07 01:09am
I work at a resturaunt, and there are
times we get quite busy. Always during the
rush I feel jittery, more than I think I
should because I know exactly how the
situation should be handled. I also have
an increase in heart rate and I find it
hard to talk to people during these times.
On one occasion I kind of blacked out and
was bussing a table one minute and
standing at the back dishwasher the next.
Is this normal?

I've had similar problems and found that
my anxiety is always highest when I am in
a big crowd of people. I was recently
diagnosed as having general anxiety
disorder and I suspect that you may have
something similar. I tend to get the
increase in heart rate and shaky feeling
when I'm in the middle of a class room and
I think it's got something to do with
social anxiety or something.

Work is the most prominient place for
anxiety to be at its highest. All you can
really do is the best you can and you have
to realixe that. You can only give 100%
and not 150%. If the work load is to
much, then you may have to look for
something else if this is causing you so
much stress. Believe me, it's not worth it
in the long run. You health and sanity
should always come first and upmost.
