Will My Breasts Not Make Milk? Posted: 12-13-07 11:43am
I am 24 weeks and my breasts have not
grown much. I am still in my same bras
that I wore prior to pregnancy. They are
definitly more full but that is it. they
aren't even sore or anything. Should I be
concerned about not making milk for my
baby? I hear all these other women talking
about how huge their boobs are and it
worries me that maybe something is wrong
with my milk factory.

Your body won't make milk until the baby
is born and is nursing. At first, your
breast will produce colostrum. After about
3 days of nursing, you will begin to make
'milk'.
Breast size has nothing to do with your
ability to make breastmilk.
You can visit a library near you and check
out books on breast feeding, milk
production - supply and demand, etc.
Good luck!

It's been 4 since i've given birth, and my
boobs are now huge, and full of milk. I
don't think they fill with milk until you
give birth. I might be wrong though.

They don't. Your baby has to nurse for a
few days before your boobs understand what
they are supposed to be doing

Don't worry, you will be able to produce
enough milk when your baby is born. I
suggest that right now, eat right. Have
enough supply of calcium too. You can
natural food supplements. I suggest
forever living if you want to take
supplements. Choose calcium citrate, it's
the best form of bioavailable calcium
easily absorbed and stored by the body.
Then there's arctic sea, which is omega-3
and omega-9, which are polyunsaturated
fatty acids that help with keeping your
bad cholesterols and triglycerides down.
Plus it has DHA which is good for brain
development. We recommend this to
pregnant women in the first trimester for
the brain development and 3rd trimester in
preparation for breastfeeding.

I'm 21wks and my boobs have basically just
swelled a little. if you don't produce
milk after the baby comes and after three
days of breastfeeding, talk to your
doctor. Ingi is always the one to talk to
she knows what she's talking about. Your
boobs haven't done anything like this
before and has to realize what they are
supposed to do.

Everyone's right, your body doesn't
produce milk until after you've given
birth. Mine never grew that much during
pregnancy either and never really leaked
any colostrum, but by the 3rd day after
giving birth, they're breast milk
producing little factories! lol
