cesarean Scar Opened After 20 Years!!! Posted: 12-13-07 12:26pm
Hello,
My mother is a fairly healthy woman, even
exercises. She had three cesarean births
over 20 years ago. Now out of no where
her cesarean scar is opening. She has a
1/2 hole in her.
I was just wondering if anyone has heard
of any situation similar to this and might
know some possible causes. I was thinking
maybe she over exerted herself during
working out, but she hasn't been working
out for the past couple of months because
of school. We are 99.99% Sure she didn't
physically tear the scar open by over
exerting herself.
I was just wondering even anyone had any
Ideas, Even the doctor was stumped. Now
she is going to a specialist but he can't
get her in until Jan 2nd. So she has to
walk around with a bandage on.

Is this possible? Doesn't the skin fuse
together/new skin form?

I don't know what's causing it but it's
possible, because its happening. She is
going to a surgen on Jan 2nd and
apparently they are going to put her back
together. They are going to also look
inside her before she gets fixed up to
make sure there is nothing causing it.
They have already done an ultra sound and
found nothing unusual.
I was just wondering if anyone knew
something that could cause this to happen.
Like maybe an infection, or cancer? Like
something that would basically attack scar
tissue? I have no idea. Waiting until
the second is way to long for me, but they
say this doctor is the best.
