Constant Pain in knees, doctor said athrosis, what else? Posted: 12-13-07 14:54pm
Dear forumusers,
I'm a 52 year old male, generally in a
good condition.
I exercise like three times a week. But
since a couple of weeks I'm suffering from
a constant pain in my knees . It began
with a slight feeling of immobility and
grew stronger and stronger. So, I went to
the doctor and he told me that I have
athrosis and he prescribed ointments which
should relieve the pain. They do so, but
they don't treat the illness itself.
Does anyone of you know anything else,
which would treat the cause rather than
its symptoms?

Was the initial pain only apparent after
exercise?
Is the pain usually accompanied by joint
stiffness and swelling?
Do you find your activities of daily
living a very painful experience (constant
pain when moving)?
Do you feel pain even at rest?
