Death Penalty? Posted: 04-19-04 00:15am
This is a touchy one but I want to know if
you either believe in the death penalty or
not? If you do or dont, either way, why
do you feel as you do about it?
I was watching court tv the other night
and it was about a 16 year old black kid
from missouri who was sentenced to death
for the rape and homicide of 2 white
girls. It showed them interviewing his
family and the victims family for like 6
months. Here is the thing, he is
bordeline mentally retarted. They didnt
have any facts on him being retarted and I
wouldnt have known it by looking at him
and hearing how he spoke. Anyway, on the
night of his execution, he was to be given
lethal ingection at 12:01 a.M. And at
11:30 pm, the supreme court cancelled his
death due to the fact that he was
borderline retarted.
How I feel is that I do believe in the
death penalty. It's kinda like 2 wrongs
dont make a right but h e l l , if you
think you have the power to take another
human life, then yours shall be taken the
same way. Only god can really pick who
and when they go but like I said before.
But then again, if it were one of my
family members getting the death penalty,
it would crush me. ~ erica.

I feel that the family of the victims
should have the decision. Although I must
say that of course prison sucks but once
people are there for so many years it
becomes their way of life and even though
it is so much different then ours I feel
that it just becomes routine and they dont
suffer much once they get use to it. If
someone killed one of my family memebers I
would want them to be in prison for about
10 years then be executed.

Yeah, it is a touchy subject. Some cases
(like this) I believe that it should be
permitted. If he were really retarted
that why would his parents give him the
oprotunity to be alone with 2 girls for
that long of a period of time? But like
you said, if it were one of my family
members I dont know what I would do..

Yeah that sounds good. Let em rot in the
cells about to go crazy and then kill em.
See the vicitms family in the show , went
on national television asking that the boy
not be executed. Actually it was the
victims mother. The 2 girls he killed
were cousins so from the same family.
Anyhow, she said he was just being a
stupid 16 year old. I was like what is
wrong with your head lady?!?!?! If that
was the case and we blamed stupidity,
noone would ever go to jail or be
repremanded.
I love the court tv show. My bf says I
should be a detective lol I seen this one
show where a doc was raping his patients
and he knew they were gonna tell on him
right? Well whenever he owuld get tested
for dna, there were never any matches.
How was he getting away with this?
Alright its sick but anyway he would save
blood from other patients and he would
surgicly implant a small tube inside of
his arms you know where they usually take
blood from? And they had his other
patients blood in it!!! How sneaky and disgusting
might I add. He got busted when a nurse
knew it wasnt a vein lol and they had him
inspected. Insane. Insane I tell you. ~

I am for it in extreme cases only but I
think all paedophiles should be hung, drawn
& quartered. If anyone messed with any
of my kids they'd
pay for it
i am 100% for the death penalty,
especially in sexual accault cases and
serial mur ders. My sis's killer had a
long record of sexual assaults and such.
He had many run in with the cops was was
always let go. It's a proven fact that
sex offenders and people with sexual
deviences in their past cannot be
rehabilitated and yet they are released
from prisons every day.
Two examples: the dru s. Case. The
girls body was just found....Her killer:
repeat sex offender
my sis-in-law's case: her killer a repeat
sex offender and had lots of run-in's with
the cops.......Killed her and 3 other
girls.
The death penalty is 100% a good thing and
should never, ever be taken out of any
state! Because the way I look at it, you
cannot rehabilitate them.... You cannot
let these people back out.....And yet, I
only pointed to one group, "sex offenders"
there are millions of others who deserve
to die with the death penalty! Only
problem with it???? It's not violent
enough for them!
I wanna see these freaks fry!
Fav quotes (you know I got quotes for
everything!!!!):
"if we are to abolish the death penalty, I
should like to see the first step taken by
my friends the murd erers."
-- alphonse karr (1808-1890)
"if we execute murde rers and there is in
fact no deterrent effect, we have killed a
bunch of murd erers. If we fail to
execute murde rers, and doing so would in
fact have deterred other mur ders, we have
allowed the killing of a bunch of innocent
victims. I would much rather risk the
former. This, to me, is not a tough
call."
john mcadams - marquette
university/department of political
science, on deterrence
"if we design a legal system that will be
so generous to the suspect that there is
absolutely no possibility of unjustly
convicting that one out of ten thousand
defendants who, in spite of overwhelming
evidence, is really innocent, then we have
also designed a legal system that is
utterly incapable of convicting the other
9999 about whose guilt there is no
mistake."
-- g. Edward griffin in the great prison
break
“it's because I have so much regard for
human life that I favor capital
punishment. homicide is the most terrible
crime there is. Anything less than the
death penalty is an insult to the victim
and society. It says…that we don't value
the victim's life enough to punish the
killer fully."

It depends erica on the law in the state,
there are only a handful of states that
will allow the execution of someone who is
mentally handicapped, its been some time
since i've taken my law class so I dont
know off the top of my head. The death
penalty is so expensive to uphold it costs
taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars
each year per deathrow inmate. And now
with new technology, 88 people have been
cleared from deathrow. About 30-40 have
been wrongly executed and those numbers
make me very nervous. In my opinion death
penalty is giving that person an easy way
out. They are killed in a humane way as
their victims (usually homicide) usually
suffered. I dont know its a loaded
issue......But interesting

In my opinion.... The death penalty is
to too easy... And prison is too easy...
They should invent some kind of like
huge prison with solitary torture chambers
and feed them mush on a napkin with no
forks or anything.... And have water
dripping constantly (but like fountains
lol as not to waste any water!!) and have
some kind of tape recordings they should
listen to... And they should be in the
dark for 23 hours out of the day and then
for one hour bright light shone on them
with a huge water hose spraying them and
air conditioners turned on like full
force... Or just let it be like a
freezer... But not cold enough to get
hypothermia... Just enough to make you
crazy... And periodiotic visits from
bubba... Just my opinion... Both
prison and the death penalty are too
leinant for some...
Well, you have a point, but the justice
system would never let anything like that
exist so I feel that the death penalty is
good for now! Prison is a vacation!
That's all it is!
