So, will you have your beta numbers back today or do we have to wait?

How are you feeling? Are you still taking the prometrium?

Hey there
I just got back from the lab....they will call with my beta numbers today.
I am sick with a doozy of a cold. Yesterday I came home sick from work with a fever. Coughing, sneezing....I had to stand in the shower for 20 min to warm up...I couldn't stop shivering. Do you think all this coughing and sneezing could dislodge the embryo?
I'm scared.....
I'm still taking the prometrium until the clinic tells me to stop.
I'll post my numbers as soon as they call! Thanks for the follow-up Christy Smile

I can't wait to hear what they are!! Maybe you have 4 little ones in there. Wouldn't that be crazy!?!?! Lol, just kidding.

No, the coughing or sneezing wont dislodge anything. However, you might pull a muscle. Everything is stretching in there as it is, so when you contract all the muscles (like for sneezing) it might put a lot of pressure on them. So, if you feel some sudden 'pulled muscle' feelings, try not to panic, that is probably exactly what happened.

They say a lot of women get a cold early in pregnancy because there immune system is...confused? It's goes from fighting the little one to protecting it, and you're just left out in the cold.

I would tell the doctor though. They might want to test for infection and call in an antibiotic. But, I hope you feel better shortly!!

Thanks for saying that...cause I have these weird cramping feelings...stretching and pulling...and it makes me nervous.

The nurse from the clinic called and she said "I've got an early Christmas present for you..."
My beta number is 185. She said that was exactly where they expect it to be.
My ultrasound is scheduled for Jan 9th. How many heartbeats????

Hi MG
They count retrieval as "ovulation" day, so by that measure I'm 15 days dpo, or 12 days post transfer.

Wow! Your number is almost twice as high as mine was at that point. Then it tripled in two days. I'm so happy for you! I could jump up and down if I didn't think it would make poor Brina fall out LOL!

I'm due Feb 8 but at this point she could be here anytime. I started going in to preterm labor at 30 weeks-really before that if you count all the times I had contractions before then and my doctor shrugged them off. I was dilated 1 cm and 50% effaced then too. I'm 33 weeks now so there's not telling how far dilated I am now. I know the pressure has gotten horrible though and that she's dropped yet again.

Wow, mg, sounds like you're getting pretty close. I heard first kids are usually late, but I'd be very surprised if you're late.

You're telling me. I was up until 5 this morning with horrible contractions. They finally went away. If they start up again though I'm going in to L&D.

Good idea. How many more weeks until Brina is fully developed?

She's pretty much fully developed, it's mainly her lungs that I'm worried about it. While she would more than likely be fine and have a short hospital stay I don't want her to have to be put through anything with the NICU. Full term is 37 weeks so it would be best for her to stay put that long. If she could just make it to 35 weeks I would be happy. That would put her being born early January. I just don't know if she's going to hold out that long though.

She does move alot. She's not kicking like she used to but that's because her quarters are starting to get kinda cramped in there. She does like to stick her butt and feet out and leave a little lump on my belly though. LOL! It's really cute but hurts like heck. I'm not going to complain though because I love feeling her.

Well, I hope she doesn't spend any time in the NICU. I hope she comes with you when you leave the hospital!
