I Have a Problem!
Posted: 12-19-07 01:21am

Hi, I just signed up and I have a major problem. I'm 18 years old and throughout pretty much my whole teen life I've had very bad penis problems. I'm blaming this on the fact that I had no father figure to guide me through the necessary penis issues.

Here are and were my problems:

1. My main issue is smell. Something like a fishy smell. I have it throughout the day, and when I get a shower, pretty much the minute I get out I can still smell it.

2. A very sensitive head. I'm not sure if this is normal for every guy or not, but when I turned 12 or 13, I couldn't even touch it without it throbbing with pain. Recently, the more I fool around with it and touch it more, the sensitivity goes away. But it's still there, only when my foreskin is pulled back. But when I got out of the shower recently today, I said to myself "the hell with this, I'm sick of this feeling I'm just going to go ahead and try rubbing it and drive through the pain." It worked, and the pain wasn't as bad, but it still felt a bit weird.

3. I recently realized buildup of smegma(sp?) and I've been cleaning it up pretty well. There is barely any if not none completely. But I still get that smell from it.

4. Before the last couple of years, I found it extremely hard to pull my foreskin past my head. Only the past 2 years I started doing it. It's very easy now, and it doesn't bother me. But I'm thinking not pulling it back up until the past few years caused some problems.

5. The start of my head, not the tip, but when it starts, is sort of a purplish color. It has no pain, but it looks completely different from the other parts of the head.

It's like no matter how much I clean it, play with it, rub it, I still have sensitivity(not as much as when I was younger) and a very bad odor. And I'm very embarrassed to go to the doctor because I'm only 18 years old and get nervous about those things. Here are my questions:

1. Is penis-head sensitivity normal for an uncircumsized penis?
2. Why is this odor not going away even when the second I step out of the shower after cleaning?
3. Is there creams out there that can resolve the odor problem that it seems like a lot of men have?
4. Is the purplish area on my penis normal?

Thanks guys, and gals, for the advice. I really need help here!

go see a doctor. none of this really seems normal. i was talking it over with my boyfriend and he said that none of this seems typical. we think you may have an infection. make sure that you wash the whole area down there very well, try using body wash instead of bar soap, it can get in all the "crevices". don't be embarrassed, you never know if it could be something serious that is better to be treated sooner than later.

I would recommend seeing a doctor. Just regarding the smell and discoloration. Though a purple head is normal it would be good to get yourself checked out to see if anything can be done.... have you tried lubrication when stimulating the head? That might ease the pain you feel. The head of the penis in general doesn't like too much friction.

Don't be embarrassed to see a doctor. Seriously, it's part of their job to look at penises and find out there's anything wrong. There's absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about!!
