What is peracdot? Is it an herb or drug?

If you are taking a prescription medication, you need to tell your doctor before he prescribes it to you that you are breastfeeding.

Just about any drug that you can get OTC is safe for breastfeeding, except maybe aspirin.

im gonna go out on a limb here and say you mean an oxicodone (such as percacet, persadan etc) and those are considered a class b (i beleive) while pregnant and class L3 for breastfeeding, which means its moderatly safe

L1=safest
L2=safe
L3=moderatly safe
L4 not very safe
L5=dangerous

i beleive

I had a c-section and was prescribed Percocet and I was breastfeeding. They said that some of the medication was transfered through breast milk, but it must be safe because they gave it to me.

Oxicodone is only moderately safe for term babies who are breastfed. It is not safe for pre-term breastfed babies.

Since this is a prescription painkiller, your doctor will be able to prescribe something more safe than this if you are concerned about the baby and you want to breastfeed.

You do have to ask, because mine didn't tell me much about what they were giving me (oxicodone) and they were actually sneaking formula to the baby when they made me think they were giving him my expressed milk.

Personally.....oxicodone didn't relieve any of my pain. Hospital strength doses of ibuprophen were more effective.
