Yeast Infection

Ever since I found out I was pregnant I've
been having a yeast infection. I can't
take the pill b/c you just can't while
you're pregnant and the cream makes me
burn up down there.
I've been suffering really bad with it. I
finally bought me some yogurt. I hope
that works. Any suggestions?

i've only had one recently and it was
while i was pregnant with finn. i used the
monistat cream and it did burn but only
for a few minutes.
um... are you eating the yogurt or putting
it inside you? tmi question, but i think
i've heard you can put the yogurt in your
vagina. that grosses me out too much
though.

lol
I'm eating the yogurt, but I also heard
that it's good to put plain yogurt on it.
I think I'm going to look it up and go for
it. I'm miserable to say the least.
I've just been quietly putting up with it
for 2 months.
I'm talking to my doctor tomorrow about it
also.

I just read that when tested there was no
results found when taken orally or
topically, so it doesn't really do
anything. Well maybe I can make a
smootie
with the plain yogurt that I bought just
now.

where did you read that? i googled yeast
infection + yogurt and got a lot of sites
saying it does help.
this is from pregnancy-info.net-
Alternatively, yogurt has long
been known to help treat yeast infections.
Yogurt contains acidophilus bacteria,
which kills off the yeast. However, you
need to use plain yogurt that contains
live acidophilus bacteria with no added
sugar. You can apply the yogurt directly
to your vagina to treat your yeast
infection. Many women have also found that
simply eating yogurt can help prevent a
yeast infection from occurring.

Make sure the yogurt has 'active culture'
in it, or it's pointless. It's the culture
itself that helps not the yogurt. You can
actually buy packets of the active culture
at most health/vitamin stores. It will be
in the refrigerator (it will die
otherwise). If you buy them in the packets
you can add them to a lot of different
foods (and you can't taste it) So, you
aren't suck with yogurt.

The best thing to do when you have a yeast
infection is to give up any sugar in your
diet, including artificial sweeteners.
You can also take out processed carbs,
like bread and even taking out things like
potatoes probably for now. You can eat
fruit, just don't drink juice. It depends
on how bad your case is and it seems like
your suffering quite a bit.
Yogurt is good, but you should get the
plain kind so that you won't be giving a
help (active cultures) plus a drawback
(sugar that feeds the yeast). The yeast
looks for a feeds on the sweet stuff.
Hope you feel better soon.

Putting yogurt inside of you does help.
Also, when you tried the cream, what kind
did you try? Once I had a yeast infection
and tried the 3 day ovule insert cream
things and it burned really bad. The next
time I had one, I tried the 7 day cream.
The cream is a lot less intense/strong
since its more spread out over the days
and it didn't burn me at all. Maybe try
using a less strong cream

Regular Yoplait has the avtive cultures!
I just got over the beginning of one! And
eatting yogurt for a couple of days really
seemed to help me!!
You should actually call your Dr's office,
and not wait till the appt. S/He'll prob
call in a script for you!! So you don't
have to suffer anymore!!
I hope you start feeling better! I can
only IMAGINE how painful that gets!!

He prescribed me the same damn thing that
made me burn. It starts with a T and it's
a 3 day treatment. I told him it made me
burn, but he said to try it again. I
might just eat a lot of yogurt and wait a
while before filling it.

Monistat has a 1 day treatment now, I saw
it at Walmart the other day. Even if it
does burn, might be worth it to get rid of
it in one shot. I get a yeast infection
everytime I get pregnant /sigh. I feel
your pain.
