My HSG came back normal and my dh's SA was
normal. Actually, he had two things that
were slightly outside the normal range:
progression and ph. The progression
scores means that most of his little guys
are slower than normal, but his overall
motility is normal. The ph was nuetral
but the little guys do best in slightly
alkoline semen (fights the acidic
environment). From what I was reading, my
dh's numbers are so high that neither one
of these matters much. Plus, a sperm wash
easily fixes these.
I ovulated right about the time that dh
and I left for Italy. I didn't use opks
and temped right up until we left (cd 14).
My ovulation day is rarely later than cd
14, so I figure I either ovulated the day
we left or within a few days. If I
ovulated on cd 14, then I'm at 13 dpo
today. Af is due sometime between
tomorrow and Christmas.
I've been having cramps since 7 dpo. At
the time, I thought it was GI related so I
took some pepto (I was on a 10 hour flight
with turbulence). Then I ended up being
backed up until yesterday (12 dpo). So
the cramps I've been getting all week are
most likely GI.
I am fairly hopeful that my GI problems
were an early pregnancy sign, but who
knows. I
don't normally get backed up for six days
straight, so I've let myself daydream
about taking an HPT on Christmas morning
and putting a BFP in my dh's stocking
(kinda gross, actually). At the same
time, I'm worried about whether I'll start
tomorrow and have to get my FSH test on
Christmas.
Well, wish me luck. I really hope we've
succeeded. Next month, I'm likely to
ovulate on a business trip and the month
after that will probably be a procedure
month.

Cramps are often a good sign! I had strong
AF cramps around 6dpo onwards....I'm still
feeling little stretchy pulling feelings
down there. But I definitely had AF cramps
last week for sure....
Fingers crosses for you and sending baby

Well, my temp was still pretty high this
morning and no sign of af. I went through
my past charts and my temp always seems to
drop by 14 dpo. The fact that my temp
didn't drop makes me feel like af is
definitely not coming today!!! So now it
is just a matter of waiting another day or
two. Afterall, I don't really know when I
ovulated, so af could be due tomorrow or
Christmas.
The good news is that Christmas is not
likley to be cd 3 now. That is a relief.
I don't even know whether the fertility
clinic lab is open on Christmas.

My temp dropped this morning.
I know that it doesn't mean that af is
coming for sure, but it isn't a good
sign.
No af yet. So I've got a little hope.
I"ll test tomorrow morning if I still
don't have af no matter what my temp says.
I did temp about an hour early because I
couldn't hold my bladder any longer. I
doubt that is why my temp is as low as it
is. If the temp was high, I'd have taken
a test then.
The best news is that the FSH won't be
tomorrow.

So I got up at 5:45 am because I had to
go. I took an hpt then without first
temping because I thought it was too early
to temp. It was a bfn.
Then I temped at 7:45 and got an even
lower temp than yesterday.
Af showed up at about 8:15.
It sucked. Today was such a hard day not
to think about how desparately we want to
have kids.
The silver lining is that the two day
delay in af might result in improved bding
since I'll probably o after my business
trip now.

I had my blood test and an internal
ultrasound on Thursday. The internal
ultrasound is pretty gross considering its
day three, but I guess the thickness of
the uterine lining on that day tells them
something. Anyway, the news showed some
abnormalities. Some better than others.
First, I have only three active follicles
per ovary when normal is five. That is
most likely due to age.
I also have a cyst on my left ovary. The
doctors will have to check on it again in
a month or so to see what it is doing.
Even though the cyst could mean nothing it
makes my head go crazy. Is the cyst from
a recent month when I didn't ovulate? My
charts show ovulation in every month,
though a few look strange. How many times
in the last few years did I develop a cyst
that just went away? I have no pain from
the cyst as far as I can tell. Will this
affect the likely success of IUI?
As for the blood test, my FSH, Estrogen,
and LH were all normal. The FSH was on
the high side of normal, but it was
normal. I did test high for TSH and
Prolactin. The clinic ordered a retest
and drew blood again yesterday. I don't
have the results yet. If they come back
high again, then it signals either a
problem with my pituitary gland or my
thyroid. In my research I discovered that
the levels were consistent with a
subclinical hypothyroid. I also read that
those levels are higher when you're
pregnant. My dh suspects that maybe I was
late because of an early miscarriage. I
don't know if that would affect the tests.
The hypothyroid result is a possibility
and I think infertility from hypothyroid
is fixable with drugs. My mother had
thyroid problems and has been on thyroid
medication since her mid-twenties. I'm
not sure if she was hypo or hyper. I have
been tested a few times before for thyroid
issues but I've never tested positive. I
only hope that if I do have a subclinical
hypothyroid issue, that the testing and
treatment period doesn't delay ttc much.
I also don't know what it would mean for
IUI or IVF.
I keep telling myself that the best
outcome from tests is finding a problem
that is fixable. However, finding out
about problems doesn't exactly make me
jump for joy.
