Ringing In My Ears
Posted: 12-23-07 01:26am

Ever since 2 days ago my ears have been ringing constantly. I know the first impression would be to think that I have lead a life of loud music and hard rock concert, but that's not really the case. All I did was go to the club (I go about once a month or so) for a few hours and when I walked outside both my ears were ringing. Okay...not too bad I know that can happen. It got a little better and by next morning and it was improved but still definitely noticeable. Fortunately the ringing doesn't happen in my right ear anymore, but my left ear still rings non-stop and hasn't improved at all since yesterday. I'm very worried that this could be permanent or it won't go away. I have extremely sensitive ears and a lot of loud sounds that are fine for other people hurt my ears (although this is the first time my ears have been noticeably ringing) so I'm worried that my overly sensitive ears might have come into play for some reason. I asked everyone else at the club who was with me if their ears were ringing, and they all said no :/ Should I see a doctor or just ride it out for a couple days and hope it gets better?

Sounds like Tinnitus -

Tinnitus can be perceived in one or both ears or in the head. It is usually described as a ringing noise, but in some patients it takes the form of a high pitched whining, buzzing, hissing, humming, or whistling sound, or as ticking, clicking, roaring, "crickets" or "locusts", tunes, songs, or beeping.[3] It has also been described as a "whooshing" sound, as of wind or waves.[4]

Tinnitus is not itself a disease but a symptom resulting from a range of underlying causes, including ear infections, foreign objects or wax in the ear, and injury from loud noises. Tinnitus is also a side-effect of some oral medications, such as aspirin, and may also result from an abnormally low level of serotonin activity.

From Wiki... I would go to the doctor to see if there is anything you can do
