Holiday Blues?

Does anyone else get the holiday blues? I
know I get them every year, but this year
seems much worse. I don't want to work, I
don't want to eat, I don't even want to
get dressed. I should be super happy,
instead, I'm upset that things are going
back to 'normal' and that 'normal' sucks.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
If so, what do you do to snap out of it?

arguement with DH last night and those
blues started...I am at work and two
people are out, and i am supposed to pick
up the slack, but I am not motivated at
all...so yeah, I understand ....

Yep, both of my superiors are out today. I
really want to leave early. I actually
might do that.
Maybe, I'm getting a headache and need to
go home around, I don't know 3 ish....

Lol! That would be awesome...I wish I
could too!!! No such luck
though!!! I have decided that I am NOT
doing any extra, what I get done is what I
get done!!!! LOL! Not to change the
subject or being obnoxious, but I value
your opinion and wonder if you could check
out my post in getting pregnant...if so,
thanks a ton!!!
Anyway...I hope you go home early!!! How
was your christmas though, besides getting
the blues! hehe!

I haven't actually gotten anything
accomplished at all. I've been on the
internent most of the moringing. I have a
lot to do too. This is the last week of
the month and its short...so I'll be
panicing tomorrow.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to go home
early. I don't know why I've been so sad
the last few days...
I'm flattered that you value my opinion. I
responded to your post and I pm'ed you.

I always seem to feel a little bit of
let-down the day after Xmas, when I think
about things going back to normal after
the new year. Sometimes it's
overwhelming. I'm going to try to come up
with some inspiring new year's resolutions
so I will have something to get me
motivated.

That is actually a really good idea! I've
been discussing Weight Watchers with B.
and I think it will help to have that to
look forward to. I'm a very goal-oriented
person. So it is helpful to have a 'plan'
even if nothing comes of it.
Actually I think that is the major thing.
I've been working so hard toward Christmas
and making everything 'perfect' and
now...nothing.

I really know exactly how you feel. I am a
bit melancholy today myself. I am getting
better about this, though. A long time
ago I was seeing a counselor and I
confided that sometimes I work so hard
toward a goal, or build something up so
much in my mind that by the time the event
actually arrives I have completely
destroyed my ability to even enjoy
myself-to be present in the moment. I
have gotten a lot better about this,
though and am learning to be more at peace
with the time at hand, and not always
maniacally planning ahead for everything.
Besides the WW, what other goals do you
have for the new year?
Here are a few of mine:
Run at LEAST 4 days a week.
Yoga AT LEAST 3 days a week
Train for a half marathon which comes in
May
Develop a better daily structure in my
life
Yell less
Smile more
Breathe deeply before speaking

That sounds like me to a tee! I'm scared
of ppd because of this. Very scared.
I don't have many goals for next year. But
here is the list I do have:
Do every thing in my power to get that
darn bfp.
Support DH more.
Put less pressure on myself, I can't save
the world.
That is pretty much it for now. I'm sure
I'll add a lot to it. I can always find
something I'm doing wrong.

You two are so inspiring...lol, I know
that sounds cheesy...my only goal is to be
the good housekeeper I know I am. (I am a
very good cleaner, but i don't have the
motivation to keep the house clean-dh does
most of it) Bless him!
I am so glad you two are goal-oriented and
you both sound like you have excellent
goals and have a good chance of keeping
those goals! Good luck to both of you!!

I have learned how neat it is to view
christmas from a kids point of view again.
It was so fun to watch their excitement!
Geneva got a new bike but it's been
snowing so much she may not get to ride it
until July at this point! The children
are getting stir crazy from the bad
weather.
