Disorganized (hebophrenic) Schizophrenia
Posted: 04-21-04 00:46am

I am a college student doing an essay on disorganized schizophrenia. I have never met a person with this disorder. My professor wants us to answer questions like "how do ppl w/this disorder feel about themselves, act in classrooms," etc... You don't find many answers to these type of questions in websites. Usually you just find the definition and symptoms. If you know anyone with this disorder, please write back some of their habits, actions, etc...

I 've been an lvn x 15 years, & now, my only son has just, recently ( 01 of 03 ) been diagnosed with this most serious of all mental ilnesses, schizophrenia . Please, do emphasize the fact that they should be refered to as people, with the disorder, rather than, just simply, " schizophrenics ", which sounds like they are to be regarded as a problem, rather than, another, human being . Typically, they are withdrawn . Although, the context in our society would have you withdraw from them . These, people, are typically, non - violent, except to, themselves . And, in fact, 1 out of every 10, people with schizophrenia, completes the act of suicide . So, they are suicidal, rather than, homicidal . If incarcerated, it is statistically, for petty crimes, & or, vagrancy . Also, an important fact, is that only 50% of identical twins are schizophrenic, which shows us that environment is a key factor to the manifestation of schizophrenia . And, if you want to ask your readers a question at the end, I would ask them, what society could do to reduce the risk of schizophrenia, as this should, surely, bring us closer than we are now, to doing god 's work. God bless you ! And, your work ! From someone who genuinely cares, Wink laura .

Hey, Preppy, Go to a Psychiatric Hospital

You don't see this kind of ppl because they are very rare and
usually they are hospitalized. If you want to know their habits,
i can assure you that they enjoy a lot panick attacks (because
of their distroyed hearts, lungs and arteries), and they also
enjoy suffocating and fainting themselves as well as being
fearfull of amputations.
So, if you are not accustomed with these kind of behaviors
get lost.

This is the info that you get from this site:
http://health.Allrefer. Com/health/schizophrenia-disorganized-hebe phrenic-info.Html

please pay attention (at the end of the description) at the so called
"predisposition" of this type of patients to becoming "chain-smokers".
This is usually the bagaboo that is waived in front of the naive people
when the doctors want to explain multiple limb amputations when in
fact this is clearly a vascular disease (generalized vascular disease).
The family history is explained by the inheritance of the vascular genetic
efects that do not allow a normal cardio-vascular development which in
turn triggers "endothelium dysfunction".
The ultimate prognosis of these patients is extremely scary.

The content of the link follows:

schizophrenia - disorganized (hebephrenic)

alternate names : disorganized schizophrenia, hebephrenic schizophrenia

definition
disorganized schizophrenia is a type of schizophrenia characterized by disinhibited, agitated, and unorganized behavior.

Overview, causes, & risk factors

as with all types of schizophrenia, the cause is unknown. The onset of this subtype of schizophrenia is usually in late adolescence or early adulthood, below age 25. A family history of depression or psychosis increases the likelihood of having the disease.

People with this form of schizophrenia are more likely than others to develop substance misuse problems. They are particularly likely to become chain-smokers.

It is possible that this is the new psychiatric label for neurosis
or madness.
