My husband (82 yrs. Old) has very very
red legs.
It started about a year ago when his feet
got very red and has been moving up his
legs. Now at his knees.
When his feet were red the doctor told him
it was just old age.
His legs are not painful but stiff.
What type of specialist should I take him
too?
Does anyone know?
Or, does it sound like something else is
going on?
Thanks!

Cellulitis? Posted: 04-21-04 02:36am
Old age, I have about the same symptoms,
they 1st did call it cellulitis, they
started giving me a bunch of anti-biotics,
they did not help, I also had inflamation
and pain I don't think it is old age as I
am 52 years young (ha! Ha!) I know I am
no spring chicken but my situation started
as a fall, then it became swollen, red,
shiny the burning was horrible, I went to
several dr's., they finally sent me to a
Dr. That did an emg(electromyography)
nerve test and it showed I had peripheral
neuropathy, rsd(reflex sympathetic
dystophy) but I also have fibromyalgia
which is a lot of the pain situation.
You might think of checking out a
neurologist or whomever does this test or
at least a skin Dr. As you have a right
to another opinion as I know this is
miserable as I couldn't even put a sheet
over my legs. I hope this has helped and
the situation gets better, I do hope it is
just something minor!
Sincerely,
sandy

onlyl stiffness.
