no. a 28-week baby would probably weigh about 3 pounds (if that) and they would have a nice long stay in the nicu ahead of them.

a baby born at 28 weeks will weigh between 2 and 3 pounds and would stay in NICU until he/she weighed between 4 and 5 pounds.

They can look alot like a newborn but it's just looks, but then again my 12week scan photo looked like a baby to me. As for the weight there is no way on earth they would weigh the same as a term baby

Pregnancy
I had a baby at 22 1/2 weeks and he looked like a mini version of a full term baby. However,he was 11 inches long, weighed less than two pounds and could not open his eyes. He had an 8 day stay at the NICU and passed away. At such an early age, their lungs are not fully developed yet so they cannot get the needed oxygen to their organs and they start shutting down one after another. It is heart breaking to watch your baby go through that.

it is heartbreaking to read about it, and to know that, this happens everyday. God bless you.
